Keeping things simple this year since I'm not super involved with what's going on in the community anymore.

-New player setting WR: Going with a little bit of a dark horse pick this time around and saying Gustav on rDH. I think an rDH improvement is long overdue and he's the guy to do it.

-Current WR that will remain standing: I feel like picking a WR from pre 2022 is a little bit like cheating for this one, so I'll leave it to records set in 2022. Among these records, I think that rWS SC has the biggest chance of not being beaten. Just knowing how hard Hunter went in on that and the fact that no one else is even trying, it's an easy pick.

-Will a New Shortcut/Glitch be discovered and what track: At this rate, probably, but I have no idea where it could possibly be. My best guess would be that something gets developed on rYF with the relatively new fast wheelie mechanics. I doubt I'll be right with this one. On another note, I do feel like the rDH ultra shortcut could be pulled off this year, but won't be fast enough to surpass the current SC. Would be a neat little alt category though.

-Will Logan be dethroned: Don't think so, as Logan hasn't really ever shown signs of slowing down. Perhaps within the next few years though things will change.

-More or less WRs than 2022: Inclined to say less here as the latter months of 2022 saw waning activity in the WR scene. I think that'll continue into the first quarter of 2023, but could pick up a bit during the summer months.

Favorite moment of 2022: My favorite moment was poyo coming back to goldmine after an over decade long hiatus and set a WR on the exact same day of his last one, exactly 13 years apart. That's the stuff of legends right there. I have to point out some honorable mentions though:

-SGB glitch discovered and utilized
-rBC3 3/3 shroomless ultra by Logan
-Jack G pulling through on rSL
-Justin making a 6 second cut on KC
-Sub 45
-Many more that I cannot think of

As Mario Kart Wii turns 15 this year, I hope that the players celebrate this milestone by giving us even more incredible moments in 2023. I'll more or less be watching on the sidelines this year, but I'm looking forward to what this year in MKW brings.

- A New Player setting a WR? Ray WGM maybe. But yes there will be at least one new player
- A current World Record that will still stand? Many. Sosis rSL, Braixen CM Glitch, Jack rSL, Hunter rWS, Logan BC3, Logan both DKMs, Logan RBC, and probably more.
- Will a new Shortcut/Glitch be discovered and on what track? I doubt it tbh. New strats for sure tho.
- Will the current Site Champion (Logan) be dethroned? If so, by who? No chance.
- Will there be more WRs or less WRs than last year (122)? Less. I'm guessing we'll be under 100 this year for the first time since 2017
