My Rainbow Road goals

Hi Alex,

Since I have drawn some attention 2 my Rainbow goals of trying 2 take your Aussie records, I thought I should let the community know, I might cease my attempts??

This is bc I fear playing hundreds of hours and falling short of beating u. It's not just investing hundreds of hours and possibly not succeeding it's a combined reason, I can easily improve at other games I could spend hundreds of hours towards and almost gaurantee 2 succeed at. Or I can challenge u 4 hundreds of hours and possibly lose.

U r so strong it's far from certain if I can beat u and I have too many games 2 work on. If I didn't have a big collection of games 2 work on, no doubt I'd keep challenging myself 2 beat u. The problem is, do I challenge u or improve at heaps of other games and competitions??

I am in two minds and don't know how 2 prioritise what I should do.

Since I have made multiple topics about Rainbow Road, I thought I should let u know where I am at with it.

There's a reasonable chance I won't improve anymore 50Hz PRs as I have 2 many games 2 improve at and my MKDD!! PRs take me many hours maybe, tens to hundreds, (probably tens of hours at most) 4 SMALL improvements. Other games in many cases take me 2-3 hours for improvements if even 2-3 hours and the improvements r often bigger, in some cases, much bigger.

Sorry if I disappointed anyone, just want 2 b honest.

In my head, I am so confused about my priorities. Do I keep challenging u Alex or work on other games?? (I ask myself and don't know what I should prioritise 4 myself).

This serves as an explanation not a question. Sorry if rude, just explaining.

Sorry about making so many topics in the forums.

Well done with your Australian records and other gaming successes Alex!

You already got a Titan time and not many people can do that. Just a little more, like 0.1s per lap? Should be possible I think, maybe with slightly better A-tech or R-tech -- you are so close that many factors might work.

Thanks AlexSmiley

Thanks Alex and Goomba as well as other competitors who have been supportive too!

I should keep trying, it would mean a lot 2 me 2 earn one or two overall Aussie records as they r extremely tough 2 achieve. Especially given they r like 16-17 year old Aussie records it makes them outstanding, well done AlexSmiley

I'll try some moreSmiley thanks heaps 4 the support!!

I'll play some Rainbow Road tonight and see what I can doSmiley

I tend 2 take gaming very seriously, when I think about all the games I can play, it's both good and overwhelming!! It's good in the sense that, I enjoy videogames A LOT, it's overwhelming how many I can choose from.

Thanks againSmiley

Edited bc I was very tired when I wrote this post saying things I don't agree with now I think about it. One might NOT need a vision OR self belief 2 race strong PRs. I was sleepy when I first wrote this b4 editing it.

I played Rainbow Road for 5hours last night from 7:30pm-12:30am.

4 the first two hours my play was garbage. In the whole 5hours, I didn't score Titan D againSad I got close 2 Titan D multiple times and although I have already achieved it many times on the 3lap b4, it was very disappointing 2 not get it once last night when I am aiming 4 Titan C, maybe even Titan B.

One run, I achieved 1'00"5xx lap one, 0'59"4xx lap two and about 25 seconds into lap three I got too nervous and messed up but was battling nerves b4 messing up a solid run. If only lap three were strong like laps one and two I would have got at least Titan C probably, maybe Titan B. But, it's easy 2 say if only it happened that way, easy 2 say it when there's no pressure, when there's no heat of the moment.

I think it's psychological my disadvantage. I feel like I can't get Titan C plus I am afraid of playing 4 tens-hundreds of hours. If I overcame my psychological disadvantage I might b capable of Titan B on the course and Titan C on the flap? But this is so much easier said than done.

I handle pressure semi well at best when I need 2 handle it superbly 2 reach my target standards on Rainbow. Part of achieving STRONG PRs is handling intense pressure. I am very average at handling pressure it's a pretty big weakness of mine.

Thanks 4 sharing the videos of some of the top competitors Goomba in order 4 me 2 study my mistakes in order 2 learn how 2 improveSmiley I watched some Rainbow 3lap vids and didn't learn anything because I have studied your Zero to Hero video on Rainbow Road in the past and used that awesome knowledge 2 my advantage gradually implementing more and more difficult techniques into my runs on Rainbow. I think I utilise all your advice now when I get a good run inSmiley thanks 4 all the helpSmiley thanks 4 making those videos 4 the community as I have very much benefitted from your stellar advice mateSmiley thank u!!

I hope I don't give up at Rainbow. We'll see.

Thanks guys!!
Stephen
