Enforcing the top 100 emulator ban

After some recent events, i've been thinking about some of the proof rules we have in place, in particular i thought about the rule of "emulator allowed until top 100"

The rule seems to be self-enforcing, most emulator players either invest in a console or stop playing until top 100, there is one exception i can think of.

Andrew Gjini is rank 134, he has many top 100 times and even some top 50 times including a 29th place BP flap. I don't think he's cheating, but I would be more sure if he were playing on a console, and I see value in enforcing this rule to anyone who has top 100 times with emulator.

Not sure how others feel about this rule, figured I'd throw it out there since it's been on my mind lately

I feel like without proper video proof requirements, enforcing this would be pretty hard. However, if we know that the player uses emu beforehand, we could freeze someone's profile upon them achieving a top 100 time and only unfreeze once they provide proof of them switching over. This way their times are still on the site, but they can't submit more times. Seems like a hassle, but I can't think of other ways that we could enforce it other than having the emu players self-moderate themselves and simply not submit their times. Another possibility would be if there was an option on the site to filter out emulator times by default. In that case we wouldn't need the top 100 emu rule and just say that if you want your times to be compared to everyone else's you'd have to switch over to console. Not possible at the moment, but could potentially be used in the future if MKR happens or if the site gets an update. Shocked

Ooh yeah i like that last one, hopefully we can see that in MKR. Other than that i like the idea of requiring proof of console once in top 100

There's no way of knowing if someone is using save states for FLAP attempts.
