New to DD, any tips?

I am new to Double Dash and was wondering if the community had any tips for me to get better. My first couple of races was just me getting used to the controls etc. but I do want to eventually start playing the game seriously (like I used to with MKW back in 2009).

I think I read somewhere that this is important info... I am on 50Hz cause I live in fish and chips land hopefully this doesn't effect me that much.

Everyone has a signature but I can't think of anything so I guess this will have to do.

Hey Chippy, welcome.
First of all if you do have a discord, I'd like to refer to that: https://discord.gg/zhzfxZg
Here is where all of the community hangs out and where there are many helpful resources.

To answer your questions: No, it doesn't matter that you in the UK. When you start up the PAL game (aka european version aka your version), you can choose to play in 50hz and in 60hz. Pretty much every player nowadays (including the top 3 on the site) plays in 60hz.

As for helpful tips: Be sure to check out mariokart.video and watch videos of people who are slightly better than you. You want to get consistent at MiniTurbos, learn (and keep!) the racing lines, and watch even more videos ;p
