Actually any game that four players can play together would be great. We could play Smash one night and Mario Party another, or even MK64 battle mode. Too bad SMK doesn't have a four-player mode...

Hehe, I was looking forward to kicking everyone's asses at Tug o' War and Paddle Battle.  

Well, maybe other Karters are interested in some Party. If you really don't like stick-rotating games we could do MP2 instead, but I like MP1's mini-games and boards better.

I'm up for some Smash for sure. My preferred character is DK in both Mario Party and Super Smash Bros., by the way. Get ready to feel the simian might of the Giant Punch.  

I was really looking forward to going to Hooligan's and having a few drinks with everybody, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have the event again at the same place where we made the magic happen last time. At least I'll be able to say that I played SMK under the same roof as the likes of Antistar, Chris Clark, and Leyla Hasso (none of whom will be here this time, last I've heard).

We do have Tower Place booked for this weekend now, right? I'd hate for us to suddenly not have a venue.

Matt: Our current plan is for me to carpool with Andrew Koltz on Friday. You or him should alert me immediately (by PM or phone call) if this plan changes, as we would need to formulate a Plan B quickly. Assuming all goes as planned, please tell us where you would like us to meet you that afternoon-- Tower Place or Kartel HQ (I'm assuming the latter). If Koltz has a Garmin in his car then I can just give him the Kartel HQ address (since I know it by heart).

We don't have any coronavirus-related cancellations yet, do we? If there are just a few (especially from heavily affected regions) then I can understand, but I would hate to see ASC 2020 have a low turnout because of it. Hopefully we will have at least as many people as we did last year, but we're having to take this one day at a time as the virus continues to spread through the South and other regions.

Currently there are three reported cases in Louisiana, all in the New Orleans area, which is much closer to my area than to yours. For those who are still concerned I think the move to a (presumably smaller) venue will be a boon, the risk of transmission would be somewhat mitigated as we'd have less of a crowd.

Also we are still having the dinner at Doe's Eat Place on Friday evening, aren't we?

^ To be honest I didn't realize that your "typo" was supposed to be a pun on a location in FF6, it's been so long since I've played that game that I forgot the names of most of the geographical locations (I still remember Narshe and the Veldt, though). Had to look at a guide.

Heck I probably can't remember half the place names in FF5 or Secret of Mana. Those two, I've actually played through within the past decade.

Hope everyone realizes in time that the venue has been changed, or we'll have a bunch of people showing up at Hooligans. Maybe somebody ought to put up a sign at Hooligan's reminding everyone that ASC is once again at Tower Place?

Like I said, I'm perfectly fine with Tower Place, I just might get to sit in a chair that Antistar once sat in.

I didn't expect alcohol to be available at Tower Place. I'd rather play fully sober anyway. We can drink at Kartel HQ instead. But remember, events start at 11 AM (if my memory serves me) and signing in before that, so try not to get hung over!

Karel will you still be able to make it this year? Trump has announced that all travel from Europe to the United States will be suspended for 30 days, beginning Friday. If you can get into the country on Thursday, might you still be able to attend?

I think you have to make it through customs by 23:59:59. So if your plane makes it to the gate by 11:53 PM, you should have just enough time to force your way to the exit and run through customs.
