What were the 'golden years' of MKWii?

So I have been playing competitively since February 2018 so obviously not that long at all. Naturally I have grown curious as to what was the golden era of mkw- when legendary) WRs were set, TTing was very active, the community was large, YT content was great, clans and leagues and all that were a big thing, or however you want to define it (those were just suggestions).
Based on old footage I've been sifting through I'd say 2010-2011 although I'm probably completely wrong considering my lack of experience.

For me, definitely 2008-mid 2011. Bigger/friendlier community, more room to innovate, far less grinding/addiction. People may think "players sucked" or "WRs were free" back then, but I guarantee you, if you dropped this current group of players back then, their skill level would be just as "shit." Without a doubt.

Late 2011-2012 were not fun for me, I remember that was when a lot of people started accusing others of cheating and people accused me of cheating (particularly, Paco's Spanish dickriders). In a way it was the beginning of the end of the wholesome fun years and the grinding became real for me (when I got MC, DKJP and rPB).

Late 2012-2017 I was basically MIA, don't remember anything from then.

2017-present, things have gotten decent again. Love the activity and CTGP but again, and everyone will probably agree, way too much grinding involved...

Interesting, I guess looking through other games (not just MK) that's true as well. Also I guess MK8D is in its prime Tongue

Also based off of answers I've gotten 2008-mid 2011 seems like the 'golden era'.
Also Jaws I'm not forgiving him. I'm just saying pre-TAS he was great at the game, and the fact that he turned to TASing is sad. But cheating makes you an automatic (pun unintended) asshole Roll Eyes

I'm not sure if you remember but I used to watch your MC3 streams man, they were a lot of fun. Remember the troll certifiedemc? Maybe not Smiley

Jorge was honestly fucking amazing, I'm still impressed how good some of his times were, particularly, RR, for when they were set. I hope he's grown up since then and if he continues to submit runs to the CTGP, eventually reaches out/apologizes to us here or on discord or whatever.
