I'd like to use this thread to also reflect on last year, as I feel like it's been quite interesting.

From January to April I didn't play any time trials, was just really burnt out so decided to do some other stuff, and I think it really helped me out in the long run. I had a really productive second half of the year, getting some records I never thought I'd get

Previous goals for 2018 were:

1:14.2 LC looking at the flap it should at least be there done
1:07.0 PB just need to not choke and dedicate time done (shoudda been 1:06 oh well)
1:02.4 BP perfect run. dunno if doable but ya done (.4 perfect run ur funny old goomba)
1:18.0 MB matter of not choking, see pb done (1:17 is a matter of not choking u nob)
1:26 MaC matter of playing the track done (ye ok that's fair)
flap WR MaC same done
Better DC cuz cmon #5 is bad done and true
DC flap WR im flap guy done
DKM flap WR ditto done
ACT 26:xx IGT done (and that was before the MB/BC ultras were found)

And if I somehow get done with those all, yc 3lap wr done  

To be honest I didn't really think about them and they all happened which is sick. A lot of those goals were memorable moments as well, but to me the real memories that stand out to me were from CDM in August with a lot of the top MKDD players and ofc the SMK community, and going to Jacob's wedding in November + going to AZ with David for a week.

Now, to look forwards.

There's still some time left this year, but to be honest I don't want to be ambitious with my goals and push it to the limit just cuz I set myself some goals on the forum. So I know you like to hammer on my goals and saying they're easy (at least I stepped it up last year!), this time ima take it a bit easier.

- Beat the last 50hz WR: RR flap.

All I really need to say. I'll be concentrating on other karts more so I'm purposefully setting my expectations low here.

2018 goals? Didn't have any... well zero to hero counts perhaps. Came back to the game after a 10 year hiatus on a whim (and because I did well at PAX East and remembered how much I love this game). From March 2018 I went from approximately 600th off my 10 year old times to just outside of top 150. I was lucky enough to participate in the time trial one try tournament, and had a great time doing so.

For 2019, I feel the following is achievable:
-Make top 100 worldwide by March 2019
-32/32 Titans
-Learn the following techniques: Smooth a-tech, fancy a-tech, r-tech (maybe).
-Have a decent success rate at YOLO that I feel confident in doing them in one-tries.
-Earn a top 50 time somewhere
-Earn a God time (even if it's BP flap)

Get one PR  

I'm a few weeks late on this, but I'd like to share what I've achieved. When I got back into the game in February to early March 2018, I mostly had Intermediate and Advanced times. By the end of March, I had achieved Expert on every track I had played, and even some Heroes. Over the next month, I earned 32 Experts, 28 Heroes, and 6 Titans. On May 1st, I joined the Players' Page at #157, Hero C, which I was quite proud of. Since joining, I've achieved...

07/09: Top 100 overall
07/11: First Canadian record (MuC flap)
08/10: Top 90 overall

08/18: Top 80 overall
08/27: Top 70 overall
09/05: 3rd God
09/06: 8/32 Canadian records
09/07: Top 60 overall
09/11: 32/32 Titans
09/20: 4th God
10/03: 32/32 top 100 times
10/03: Myth D overall
10/11: Top 50 overall
10/12: Became the Canadian champ
10/19: 16/32 Myths
10/25: 16/32 Canadian records
10/31: 5th God
11/08: Myth C overall
11/13: Top 40 overall
11/26: 24/32 Canadian records

... Yeah, it's quite a list, and I'm very proud of it! I've also made several friends along the way, such as Joel Johnson, Kai Oliver Meister, Theresa Sheehan, Liam Eastham, Mike Koehoorn, David Peña, Jacob Purcell, Douglas Duncan, Joseph Armstrong, Magnus Lyngby, Alec Reduker, Sam Downey, Dorian Herniote, Hugh Moorhead, Christopher Steele, Greg Howard, and Trover Mason, just to name a few lot. Without some of these guys, I wouldn't have had the motivation to keep improving, so thanks guys!  

As for goals, I'm currently sitting at #36, Myth B, with 32 Titans, 22 Myths, and 10 Gods, along with 24 CRs.
From easiest to hardest:

• 32/32 Canadian records
• Myth+ overall
• 32/32 Myths
• 8 course Gods and 12 flap Gods (at 3 and 7 now)
• Top 15 overall

If I could get to where I am now in under a year, then I think these should be doable this year. Though top 15 might be pretty stacked by the time I get there, so I might have to settle for #16 or #17. I guess we'll find out!

I know this is an extremely late post, but with the way the year has gone for me so far I think this year may be the year I finally hit top 50. I hope. Now watch as after I say that I just totally crash and burn like last year
