Some combination of the Back function, the Home button, and clicking on the sub-forum image if there's new unreads. Sometimes click directly into a thread from Home if it's a topic I know I'm interested in/following. This certainly isn't an optimal strat, but it's not terribly slow and it's a completely ingrained habit to navigate like this at this point.

I used to do that, but it was too slow. Now I just sit in the homepage and middle-click the threads/sections I’m interested in.

Then in each section I CTRL+click the star icon on each topic I wish to resume reading. And CTRL+w each one as I finish it.
