Why I made this thread: I wanted to post this thought but there was no fitting thread to post it, and this has happened a handful of times (Don't worry, not a blog thread at all). Anyway, what I am about to write doesn't belong in the sitewide general section. I could see people finding this thread appropriate or useful from time to time.
Thought: 2018 is so active it's awesome for MKW. Maybe it's because discord started surfacing only like a year or two ago within the community afaik, or due to the increased possession rate of HD capture cards. (Btw, go invest in stocks for discord. [And if you make shitloads of money, buy everyone here new wiimotes when their peripheral constantly disconnects from being just simply worn out at the connector if they can provide proof as it's a universal problem. And if you make even
more money, buy the sad folks with HDTV's some CRT's
]). Discord really brings people together, Skype was clearly dumb in many ways, although useful. Discord's much more versatile and accessible. Also, we're at the point where it's clear new waves of players have entered the meta (not talking about just people who exclusively TT). In fact at times some chats seem like it has far more new players than old. Anyway, we also had a late lasting winter in america so maybe that contributed, but check out this stat regarding 2018 being active:
