Least amount of buttons needed to finish the game.

To get from Power on to the end of any kind of cup, what do you think the fewest amount of buttons pressed required is? (treating each cardinal direction as a button)

Personally I think it's 2
1. a to start the game and punch the gas
2. left to select characters and make turns/U turns/ W turns/ anything not straight

Does anyone think this is possible or would the game auto power down knowing what you were trying to accomplish? Also wondering if there are other low button press challenges. I saw that masters of A tech can complete baby park without pressing A.

Does moving the joystick around count a making a press? I don't think you can win many races just by holding a single direction the whole time.

If i remember correctly, you get stuck in a respawn loop on PB.  I'm sure there are others but who's gonna test.  Not me.

Im guessing he meant you only need two buttons: A and left and you can press them as many times as you want?

This sounds like it doesn't account for the fact that pretty much every track has right turns.

Good luck completing BP while holding left.

The more I think about it, the challenge should really be press buttons the least amount of times. This would give one access to all the buttons on the controller, but with the mindset that they should be very minimalist with their presses.

A run would look very simple and bland if you were to play the all tracks mode in Grande Prix, but the design behind the strategies used on every track is interesting. If I get any better I'll definitely try to see what the minimum amount of button presses I use is.

I did a run on 150cc mushroom cup using only A and Right and got 8mins (came 8th, 1st, 3rd, 4th) its possible to come 1st in the last three races maybe 7th in luigi. Ill have a go at fewest presses tho
