Nitro Tracks speedrun glitch help
05/17/18 at 12:02:46
1) I can get the mountain climb on MG, and land on the other side, but cannot get the lap to count. Anyone know what could possibly be wrong?
2) Is there a CONSISTENT way to do the CM out of bounds? I know there are many factors for this glitch most likely, (Weight, speed, and other things.) but help would be appreciated. Thank you. Video links would also be very appreciated if possible.

You need to get a decent amount of height on the mountain (not too high to the point you glitch through the top) or else the checkpoint will not be triggered.
CM is much harder and it can take a few tries to get under the track. Try watching some older WR videos to see the easier methods of entry.

1) You have to be above the finish line as you go around the mountain for the lap to count
2) Not really. The best method imo is use the rail to the left of the shroom sc to clip into the rail below that to get out of bounds

Well, it would be like rolling a die and it landing tails every time. After every roll the chance of it being tails becomes less and less, because eventually it will land on heads.

The higher you are on the mountain the closer you are to hitting the key checkpoints for some reason I guess. I learned it in a video I watched like 6 years ago, and I don't really remember what the explanation was

So, I need to get higher up the mountain for the lap to count? Should I immediately hold Down+Right instead of first holding Down for a sec, then Right?

I haven’t done the glitch for a while but if my memory serves me right, you should hold down until you get the required height before holding right

Alright. I will try that later. I know I didn't bring this up in my original post, but could you maybe also help with the WGM lap skip. I've been able to get both WGM and CM glitches a few times each. Every time I get the respawn by the starting line in WGM, I go back to hit the fence, and drive back, but it does not work. Do I need to hit a specific part of the pipe? Thanks for everyone's help too. I know it seems rather odd to speedrun Mario Kart.

If you land on the pipe or just to the right/left you should respawn just outside the cave. Respawning behind the finish will never count the lap.

By behind the starting line, I mean on the railroad tracks. (Sorry) I heard you were supposed to spawn on the railroad tracks. It's nice to know that i don't have to land ON the pipe though

There's actually an extremely consistent way to get CM glitch shroomless (old entry not Takemi). I'll make a video about it at some point but I labbed it out when I played it at a high level ~late 2016 and I would make it 19/20 times. People who watched my stream back when I used to often can back me up on this

I'd really like to be able to consistently get the CM USC shroomless, but since I only started running the game a while ago, I guess I could hang back and hope for mushrooms.

I can confirm that height is the issue I was having with Mushroom Gorge. Got the lap to count several times last night. Thank you.
