Hello.

For those who don't know me, I'm Kleenex, and this is my second time participating in the Karter Contest! I joined the MK7 PP in December 2014 and became an important member of the MK7 community since, being one of Frederiek's henchmen although I'm now less active as a player (still more than him LOL). I also joined the MKDS PP in July 2015 and I own MKWii and MKSC aswell.

You can read reply #14 for more details, but since I'm not very good at introducing myself I figured I'd start an AMA so that you can actually ask me anything.

Here are a few facts about me though:

• Might be the youngest active member of the forum who's not from an english-speaking country
• Doesn't even hold 32/32 MK7 records in his school
• Man of culture*
• Plays some other games semi-competitively
• Got the most votes from a single MK bloc among all participants #rigged

2 years ago, I didn't even manage to pass the group stage. But seeing that today I have to beat 2 people among Jonesy, Hahaae, Scott, and the legendary Mike Groels, this could easily happen again. That's why I figured I should learn from my mistakes and draw my inspiration from successful 2k16 campaigns. I went with the easiest one first, but I doubt this is going to be enough.

I was supposed to post this before the end of the nominations phase and got lazy as usual, but this might be in my favor actually since I wouldn't be surprised if some people started to underestimate me and think I was an overconfident brat

I was thinking about which campaign I should plagiarize DRAW MY INSPIRATION FROM, but I was coming up short for ideas. So instead, I'm doing something different: a campaign for a group of people.

As many of you know, MK7 is often considered to be one of those shitty modern Mario Karts, killing flaps in exchange for introducing awful glider mechanics. Even if you have prior experience with MKWii karts, it feels clunky and alienating at first.
However, for those who overcome the initial barrier, MK7 still saves 3laps times (assuming you can still talk about 3laps when tracks like Wuhu Loop exist), and it has surprising depth in both its driving mechanics and racing strategies thanks to fucked up tracks like Wario Shipyard.
Furthermore, due to the fact that MK7 is a modern MK, its community is immature as fuck and definitely not welcoming to MK64 veterans thinking their game is superior. Many a conversation has been had on just about any topic, and long-lasting rivalries have been formed.

This campaign is meant to celebrate MK7 as both a game and a community, and to encourage others to overcome the initial hurdles and join the black sheep of the family. To that end, the core component of this campaign will be a raffle for MK7-related items (most likely INTERRUPTED BY RAMBI ATTACK UPON REQUEST

Anyway, my name is Hugo De Moya, aka Kleenex, MoyeMK, Ayomed, AncientPsychicTandemWarElephant, Hugame21, Kleetoris, Dingleberries and so on. I'm a 17-year-old frenchfag who's just living his everyday school life, playing video games etc, I also started watching anime recently.

I currently rank #79 on the MK7 PP (peaked at #63) and #246 on the MKDS one (NonPRB ; #283 PRB). I'm especially involved in the MK7 community, being one of Frederiek's henchmen alongside with Martijn. I didn't achieve much as a player though, I've only held a WW top 10 on one of the most underplayed track, aswell as 5 flap """WRs""", but I'm still hoping to become a top player one day.

How did you discover Mario Kart?

I got MKWii in 2008 and spent dozens of hours playing the VS and battle modes. A year later, I got a DSi with MKDS and played it more or less for the same time. I got MK7 at Christmas 2011, but I was mostly playing Skylanders back then. I think I came back during a summer break (probably the 2012 one) because I wanted to unlock all gold parts, but I had not Internet on my 3DS back then so I was just playing GP mode again and again, lol. I didn't unlock them in the end though, not even the gold glider, and I don't remember what happened during the following year... But I got Internet in late 2013, soon after Miiverse came out on 3DS, and that's when the shit gets real.

I remember I saw some french player (Aloshi, but Diogo might be the only one to know him lol) post his stats, which motivated to play online until I unlock the gold parts. I joined a french TT site aswell as the ЯЯ team in mid 2014. However, the ЯЯ team was not an usual clan doing wars and shit, we were just a bunch of mates having fun on Skype and time trialing together, that's what I liked so much about it. Most of us have are now inactive but we still have our own little Discord server. I first found out about mkwrs.com thanks to Fant's mentioning it on Miiverse, and then got directed to the WW top 10's on this forum through an external link. I joined the MK7 PP on 12/27/14, and you know what happened afterwards.

I also bought a GBA with MKSC from a dude in 2016, for 20 euros, but I barely played it.

Why should we vote for you?

Because it's a popularity contest

I think the most noteworthy reason would be my involvement in the MK7 community: I'm a backup times updater, I created the Best Known Flaps, French Top 10's and Live Videos threads (I still update the Best Known Flaps one, aswell as the Live Videos one, sometimes), I'm in charge of the European Top 10's (to which I brought some tiny improvements) aswell as the Best Known Splits, and I helped with the WW Top 10's format, glitch standards, and flap AF page. I was even updating the Belgian records at one point

Here are a few more reasons though:

• I'm the MK7 fapmaster, and maybe one day I'll also become its f(l)apmaster
• I've not posted a single dead baby pic in the last 2 years
• I'll make a post in the revelations thread
• I won the KC2K16 extra final contest (fuck you Etch)
• I'm planning to come back to MKDS one day, probably for another 100 AF cut
• I'm also thinking about attending CDM when I'll be in my 20s
• I still like Antistar's lists, I still broccoli and I still tif



Also @Diogo you'd better keep voting for a true man of culture, I had to make anime references out of the 3 or 4 I've seen episodes of only for you.

I was first going to say that this edition's campaigns are about as bad, if not worse, but some decent campaigns like Antistar's and Scott's came out after the nominations phase.

But still, I'm not losing to a bunch of alcoholic tricenarians and some other people bragging about their dubious achievements. "I suck at MK and my life is a failure lol vote for me", I can say that aswell, the only things I've accomplished in the past 2 years are improving my only regional top 10 to a worldwide top 10 before getting kicked, and getting 32-0'd by Joshua.

Also, I've decided to start an AMA aswell.
