This is how YOU decide who done earned a spot – by sending a list of nominations to me via
forum personal message!
Tentatively, we expect to have a tournament with 112 people going through a group phase (1 round of 4-player matches) and a single-elimination bracket phase, similarly to 2k14 and 2k16 editions. With this setup, 105 players can make it in through by being nominated, and 7 lucky players, the non-winning members of the 2k16’s Elite 8, are automatically in for this year and are guaranteed a spot in the bracket phase!
Like the last KC (and because it worked well enough), the 9 most nominated players will skip the nominations round and leap straight to the bracket phase, receiving seeding spots like the auto-ins! As such, if you think one of your favorites will get nominated either way, you might be able to help them clear the phase altogether! However, don’t forget about the lesser-known members of your community; if there’s someone you’d like to get in the spotlight, you should certainly give them a nom!
If you don't believe much in your chances to get nominated, you can try to sway some votes your way, by making a campaign thread in this forum section… once it exists. I’d say wait to make a campaign thread, but honestly, when the section opens I’m moving relevant threads to it anyway, so who cares.

What if there are too many people tied for the remaining spots??!?!Play-off matches will be had right after the nominations are over between said people. The winner(s) of this(these) match(es) will be entering the group phase of the KC. Rules from “Rules and Guidelines” thread apply here, so don’t try any funny shit!
