The only way you can score a point is if you outlap your opponent. This not only is as fair as it could get, no luck but also keeps the entire race exciting.
The way you guys are playing means
1) lightning, race over
2) missed shroomstart, race over
3) fall of track, race over
This isnt really material you can run on Tourneys
Hi RVZ,
This won't work, as there are 25 tvs around the hall and not all are recorded on stream. If the overlap is extremely close it could be hard to see if it happened and there would be disagreements.
What if some players don't overlap the opponents within the 5 laps? We haven't got time to keep replaying some races over and over just so some who are close can play till they get overlaps. (which can't always be measured accurately (as per above point).
In regards to points you stated above:
1. In some cases yes, but there have been many occasions when a player got a lightning and still failed the race (even when opponent was the same level). If you want the specific videos I can show them to you. I have two occasions that already spring to mind. There was another from the group stage so it wasn't on video but one player had 2 lightnings and still lost the race.
2. Missed zoom start will not end the race, while it does help there are always ways to catch up with the items generally and good driving.
3. Falling off the track can cause a loss if the other player drives safe and doesn't get any good comeback items, but there are shortcuts that can be done if you get the items and if the other opponent falls off then you are back to where you were.
Believe me, the races are about as exciting as can get, please do attend and you will see the atmosphere
