I'm proposing this challenge to ScouB as something fun for the new year.
It has come to my attention that Marisa (the unlisted Japanese monster SMK player) has allegedly grabbed the RR NBT 5-lap WR (1'23"5x).

That means he now has claims to 2 crazy 5-lap WRs in Time Trial!
-MC2 sub minute
-RR 1'23"5

My challenge to ScouB is to race towards these targets and see who can topple one first. He would try MC2 and I would try for RR.
Since I can't play the coming days the challenge would start the 3rd of January and will end when we reach our target or get sick of trying.

Reply #2 - 12/29/17 at 11:36:19 Actually the RR time is from 2012: 16"79/60/60/77/75 The challenge looks interesting even though it might be really hard on my side, My best splits on Mc2 give me something around 1'00"50, still far from sub minute... But we'll see what I can get. 1'00"xx would already be amazing.

Perhaps the challenge is unfair and your side of it is harder. But it's not really about who wins, I just would love to see those WRs beaten or at least approached. And you're the obvious (and for the moment only) candidate to even think of MC2. But it's not like RR is free either, different kind of challenge. Less wiggle room left, easier strat. Are you still up for this? If you get low 1:00 it would already feel like sort of a victory anyway, regardless of what I do on RR.

I only focused on the flap which was already a pain to beat

You may be right that MC2 is harder, but not by a nautical mile. What time on RR would be equivalently hard to sub minute on MC2? 1'23"3x? 1'23"2x?

As the splits shall look like 14"1x + 411"4x... Reallistically I can hope for a sub 1'00"5x with 14"1x and 411"5x...

I have full confidence that Karel and ScouB will both tap into #UltraInstinct on their quest to beat #Jiren/Marisa. And after that happens, who will then stand in their way? Will they then proceed to claim Sami’s gargantuan MC1 times? Will Mario (aka The Sleeping Giant) be forced out of retirement?
