I have similar opinions. I think MK as a series is split into 2 categories. Classic, and Modern. The classic games (SMK MK64 MSC MKDD!!) Have much slipperier controls, and are built around big turns, and are alot more forgiving with going off road. Hitting the R button in these games, won't give you a drift, but more a power slide. The tracks, as a consequence, are more open, and there's almost never a narrow road. This is where Dino Dino Jungle PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF.
Try playing DDJ in MK7, and it's all good. The modern games (MKDS MKW MK7 MK8 MK8D) all have much tighter control, and give the drift, which makes tight turns, a piece of cake, but as a consequence, the tracks are alot more restrictive, as to offer even a remote challenge. DDJ feels more like it was designed for MK7, than it was MKDD!! Want an example? THE FUCKING BRIDGE. This FUCKING bridge, is so GODAMN narrow, that offers almost NO room for error! It's so twisty, and turny, and because of this games more item based gameplay, and the fact that there will 7 OTHER RACERS slipping, and sliding, and havin' a gay ol' time all over the bridge, means, that you WILL get hit by a shell and die, get crashed into and die, or slip off the bridge and die!
Items are being thrown ALL the time, and if you slide across that big turn after the bridge, you can get hit, and bounce DIRECTLY INTO THE FUCKING PIT. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?
This track is arse.
