Just wanted to congratulate the people who beat my WRs during my hiatus.

Go for 1:59! I don’t think the MTs in the gopher area save a lot of time, but the wheelie after the chomp yard and superman laps 1 & 2 do. I originally did the MTs there because it just felt “smoother” to me. Could be totally wrong though since I never saw a comparison nor do I race ghosts when I TT.

Were you in the iteration of Evolution (Ep) after the merge? I was in Pika’s PR before he and Elche merged the clans to become Ep (then they wanted to change the name to AE7 later on when Pika quit). Were you with Kenza, Eltri, General, Force?? How long were you in the clan? Sorry, I seriously can’t remember anything about you with Evolution, considering you were a prominent player in those days. I was going to read the old threads on mariokartwii.com for nostalgia but the site is gone. Angry

As you can tell my memory from that period has a lot of gaps (not playing dumb). Got any pics or anything for me to remember?

Also guys thanks for the support on CM but I TT’d this morning for about two hours and things are looking really grim for me. I can’t do side tricks to save my life. Not sure if you’re suppose to twist or flick to the left/right. Either way, it feels awkward and it’s messing up with my muscle memory. Without the side tricks, I’m at a disadvantage against Infi. Wish I played with GCN or classic, would be so much easier.

I’ll still give it a few tries though but in the long term I don’t think I can keep this, especially if Infi is going to give CM the same treatment as DDR. I know you guys want to see another WR battle but I don’t think I can deliver it on this track anymore with these new strats.

No problem, seeing you on CM was just insane even in Infi beat you a day later. Also, I'm a wiichuck user as well and for side tricks with them, you're suppose to flick left if you want a left sidetrick, and right if you want a right sidetrick. I personally don't find sidetricks hard, just make sure you keep the wiimote flat right before you perform the trick that you want. Hope this helps and good luck to you in your endeavors Cheesy

Up tricks are the most consistent for me on the banisters. Side tricks are for the fountain area and the plant trick just before exiting the mall. I can't do the low tricks properly without them, I lose too much time against Infi. It's similar to the pipe tricks on rMR.

For the fountain trick, drift when tricking and delay the trick. Do this properly and you should be able to actually get better tricks than Infi on that section. If you do it right the animation doesn't even come out. I figured out how to do this kinda consistently back on rMR in 2010 and only ever explained it to a handful of people (Thomas, Totom, Jay?). Delay a right trick while drifting and the animation doesn't even come out. Pretty sure it's actually faster to right trick using this method on rMR as well but never tested.

Also just twist your wrist to consistent side trick
