I'm not seeing any recent topic about this so I thought I'd start a new one. Maybe other people are also interested in this.
Also, don't forget I'm a total newb in the world of computers and technology

So for a while know I've been searching for a way to record videos and even maybe stream.
I'm not looking for anything expensive cause I'm not a fulltime gamer, I only trip on MKDD  
I just like to get some videos up there to get advice from better players, maybe help filling the video list as I saw there are many Hero flaps missing.
So I found some stuff online and I wandered if I could get some advice about this:

Is this what I wanna buy in my case? As long as it's watchable it's good for me. I does seem cheap though and are there differences between al those cables in the list below?

Yeah it's better to record with a DVD Recorder, then hook that up to your usb device and record what you need onto your computer with a USB device.

If you play and record at the same time, then the quality will be slightly degraded. This is what i do when recording, and the tv screen appears a little darker than normal. It doesn't effect my game play.

You would hook your gamecube to the side with 1 set of ports, and connect it through to both your tv and usb connection. There is a switch that let's you select which set of AV connections you want to send the signal too. You can still receive a signal from more than one set of AV ports at the same time, it's just quality will be lost when the switch isn't pointing to additional outputs you're using.

For the first choice: 2 wires. Your DVD Recorder would need an AV output. You can also go from GCN to tv to DVD Recorder, and in this case your tv would need an av output.

For the second choice: 3 wires. Quality not as good, but works fine

Edit because the item i posted maybe isn't good. I didn't realise there were 3 inputs and 1 output, and i'm not sure if it can be reversed. I use something similar to this, but it has 1 input and 2 outputs. It also has a switch, to select output 1 or 2. Although there is a bit of interference in quality, it's not enough to notice when playing or care when recording through the USB connection.

That was what I was going for... The video quality I get on OBS is not that bad, still would need those though to connect also with my TV as there is to much delay to play on PC.

I use a Dazzle + splitters for MKDD.

60hz output in Dazzle is black and white for me so I use Elgato +splitters for all other games I play. The splitters are different to dazzle splitters because they don’t have the same connection. If the game is HDMI then no splitters required.

You need the double headed wires to split the image (red,yellow, white wire). Dazzle is much cheaper than a Elgato though but it still results in good quality video.

Yes probably, I've used ones this shape before but it will probably do the same job. As I said earlier you will get degradation on both outputs because only half the strength of the signal will be reaching the capture card and only half will be reaching the TV so it will be a much darker image.

To avoid degradation you'll need a powered splitter such as this sort of thing. Obviously this is more expensive.

Probably go for the non-powered versions first and see how it looks. Adjusting the brightness settings on your TV may compensate enough.

I'll be able to answer you monday if an easycap device is worth the shot that's really cheap. I don't think replays are really worth recording though

just know that it's probably not that good a quality no probs man!

My remote for my CRT Television doesn't make any sense to me. I tried all the buttons although, nothing allows me to change the display, contrast, etc. I'll have to try the settings on my Elgato later.
