On the other side, reaching all Myth+ in SMK would make me the only person with an overall GOD status in 2 MKs... but then, there's stuff like BC2 Smiley

So you wouldn't mind about RR as much as about BC2?

The feeling of being a world champion is intoxicating, and I didn't want to ever not be the world champion again. Then I realized it didn't matter that much since I had nothing more to prove and achieved my most important goal(s).

^I actually count PAL and NTSc as different systems. Practically I am not an "overall" MK64 GOD as I do not have all NTSC GODs /SC GODs. So a full NTSC Myth+ timeset would count for me as GOD status aswell Cheesy

As for me, I loved MK64 when I first tried it on my brand new MK64 (1996...). Part of that was also the months of anticipation building up to the game and enjoying the novel experience of hectic 4 player racing.  Smiley

Good point. I have always been a TT player, so those real improvements were not relevant to me.
I'm sure that MK64 and the later versions are more fun than SMK for casual play with friends. And it was probably Nintendo's goal too.

My first contact (2001) was pretty cool and I kinda enjoyed it, but switched back to SMK rather quickly in the summer of 2002, after I had felt I had done everything I wanted on that episode, and also because I was expecting MKDD – which I bought day one. After a few weeks (months?) I just wanted to come back to MK64, lol.

No, me too!! I loved MKDD and after that returning to SMK was even more loveable.. Then at some point I wanted the classic MK title and gave MK64 another shot.. I have to say, besides the fact I puked a lot it wasn't that bad when seriously trying.. then i realized I was just a noob and gave it up.. Now it makes me puke again when I see that dusty shitty console in my room  Wink

Well unfortunately I never had a N64 so I missed out on a lot of good classics (Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Mario Kart 64, Golden Eye, etc.).  With that being said, I definitely had friends who had N64s but I just never got into Mario Kart 64 as much as they did.  As Aaron said, probably because I was such a noob so I always got my ass kicked.  That aside, even back when the game came out I thought that it looked like shit and I still think so today.  But I'm with Fabrice, the game does seem to have the biggest fan following so I'm sure that I could find joy playing it if I ever gave it a chance which won't be happening anytime soon if ever.

You first played MK64 in 1996 the Japanese version?
The game was never released before June 24, 1997 in Europe and I brough this game day 1, I passed my French high-school diploma during the same week between June 23-26, and all I did these nights was playing MK64 instead of revising Grin

And my goal is to find a target Lips Sealed

I don't have much love for that game either, especially the controls.  I  would like to congratulate Fabrice on making the top 100, with superb non- NBT driving! My goal for 2017 is more than likely not going to happen as far as reaching the top 20, as I'm about to start training on PAL for the upcoming CDM. Matt has set that mark, and I look forward to seeing future times! I also want to wish Chris a speedy recovery!

Hey hey, thanks to the 3 'mericans for your congratulations, it means a lot. It's funny because when I improved my BC1 I checked the potential ranking just for fun, and I saw I was exactly tied with "Josh Stevens" (hey Eric, stop spoofing people's names  Grin Grin Grin) I didn't expect it to hold because Richard Lefint is pushing hard on NTSC as well, and should overtake me soon. Btw, we should ban people from Europe from the NTSC rankings, I lost so many ranks in the past months (Jarmou, Jerome JDR, Christopher Smith, etc.) .

In any case, I'm happy with that milestone, and look forward to having a rank in the double digits Smiley

Of course, 'grats to Matt for the top 20, but he's already #16 in PAL, so no surprise here.

Congrats also to Jordan who, like me, progresses slowly but "Shirley". Soon he will reach the top 200Cheesy

I wish I could take credit for Jet Stevens, but that was Matt's creation.  Often describing a zoom start, or shrooms LB. I will gladly claim "Lagnarak" to describe NTSC GP lag.  Smiley

I'll add a target on MC2 NTSC WRs for the period post-CDM
- try to beat the flap WR from Marisa (11"20 if I recall correctly)
- try to get closer to the 59"xx barrier (1'00"xx at least) on the 5laps

That would be SO sick! But your PAL MC2 work seems to be even more impressive than NTSC (currently), so you've got some leeway already I would say.  Smiley
