GS_Dark n00b Offline I Love Mark 2.0! 2966 days karting	2 dumb questions 12/01/16 at 20:28:36 I'm completely new here... 1: Why does virtually everyone use red monsters over the default monsters? 2: Is there a difference between using a mm or a Yoshi, or between a wario or bowser for instance? Cause it seems like every wr is only set with mm. Thanks

1. I don’t think there’s any real difference, there have been regular Monster WRs.
2. Characters have differences. Metal Mario is the fastest with the smallest hitbox, Wario/Bowser/H.Queen are the fastest and have a larger hitbox. There might be a few tracks where the fastest character isn’t one of those because of offroad/underwater or whatever, but I don’t recall any off the top of my head.

I use use it because it gives COLOR to the vehicle. 2. Different characters AND vehicle parts have specific stats. MM, Wario, Honey Bee, and ZBowser being used the most as they are the "heaviest".

according to the hidden stats list (idk if this is 100% legitimate or not), red monsters have a raised mini turbo stat and a lowered drift stat, regular monsters do not.
higher mini turbo stat means the mini turbo lasts a couple of frames longer.
from what i've read, lower drift stat means that since it doesn't drift as tight, you do less counter steering, which means you can get a red mini turbo a small bit earlier. pretty sure this is negligible on most tracks though.

Red monsters have slightly higher acceleration but slightly lower weight than the regular monsters. I personally use regular monsters on wifi with Yoshi because i get bumped a lot by heavier characters a lot (although it does little to negate that since the boost is tiny). Overall though, the differences are minimal and it doesn't really make a difference
