Well, they don't have to be old players. Just when someone takes a long break and then comes back you sort of feel a sense of community. You guys know what I mean? It feels good.

I don't really want to list anyone. I just hope people that have stopped playing come back and have a good time.

It probably has to do a lot with the fact that the main ranking for the player page is the AF chart. The player page rewards players who take the time to become good at every aspect of the game, while some players would rather develop their own specialty. If Jacob would join the PP, he maybe wouldn't even rank among the top 20 players, even though he is still holding a world record. In that case, the PP rankings would indeed make him seem like less of a player than he actually is. For another example, look at my ranking. I'm currently ranked #288 in the world, even though people might be able to make a case that I have accomplished more in this game than some of the people ranked higher than me on the AF chart.

Yeah, but joining doesn't mean submitting a full timesheet. If he doesn't want to appear on the AF chart, he can still submit a few times, like Toad did for example.

What part of "I support the PP" do you not get? The PP connects the community together, and gives another motivation for the players to strive for the best. I do not get this satisfaction on the latter. I TT because I like playing the game in its purest form, which is to simply optimize my records within the game. When I improved BC, it was magic to me. Seeing 1:58.068 on the top right part of the screen, I truly felt I accomplished what I deemed an impossibility. However, submitting that very same time to the PP, or seeing that same time added to the WR history site, does not nearly capture that same magic. That's just an example of why any system outside of the game is not as important to me. Hence why I do not want to join, because in my mind, my result within the game has already given what I want out of playing it. But does that mean I downplay any player who are apart of something beyond what the game offers? Do I care that other people care about their ranking and AF, using that as another sense of accomplishment? No, of course not. Otherwise I wouldn't be supporting the PP would I?

Being a top player should not automatically dictate that you be apart of the PP. If the motto is that for you to show your support of the PP, you must join it to "make it as accurate as possible," and all other means of showing support are obsolete, then I am only further convinced not to join. I know that's not actually the motto, but you seem to believe that.

The accuracy of the rankings is not the main purpose of the player's page. The main purpose is to give players a platform to compete with each other. Personally, I love the concept. But not everyone has to. Each one may enjoy the game as he wants to.
The reason why Jacob has been asked probably ten times already to join, is that he's such a good player. We already have so much great players on our charts but we are lacking Jacob. It's not a big deal, it's a luxury problem.

I think that we are all glad that you already participate in our community through our forum, Jacob! Smiley

If your issue is committing to something that you are not interested in, you could ask someone else to do submitting times for you.

So, if a player's feelings toward the pp are neutral, which is what I think Jacob described his feelings were, what do people think that player's objection to joining the pp is? I don't know what it is.

I think maybe not getting satisfaction from something creates different feelings for each person. All in all, I think we should respect someone's decision about this because we don't know what they feel in response to certain things.

True, but that would be like signing up on something you just got randomly in the mailbox. Doesn't matter if it'll hurt you or not when you don't have a desire to do so in the first place.

Same thing here, except of course I 100% encourage others to join the PP if they want to.
