I'm not a great player, but I found that dipping down a little and turning later than I had been helped a lot. Also, try pressing B to cancel the glider a bit earlier.

It's hard to do it right, but I hope this helps.

O_O Also, it looks like Metal Mario + Bdash + slicks + swooper is either the only or best combo for it. I might need to do a total overhaul and try to keep up with my mid 2:00 ghost that way to learn it before optimizing that hard like Okami did.
