Leone wrote on 08/11/16 at 23:33:51:-on Dan: I agree his posts look SUPER-scummy, but while this will make me look like shit, I'm going to say I actually don't agree yet with a Dan lynch, for one of a couple initial reasons: -if he's maf he's putting his neck way out there. Making yourself visible isn't a smart thing to do as maf. I've a lot to catch up on/comment on/ask so I'll go more into this (and other issues regarding Dan) later on.
Could you elaborated on the "looks super-scummy" part? Does that mean that you think he's town but that he's just posting the wrong way? Or does that mean that you think he actually is scum? If it's the former, how would that fit into the grand picture? I personally think Dan is one of the better players in the game. Why would he go out of his way to post "super-scummy" posts? And why would Dan not be a good lynch today? You're only looking at results that we can gather if Dan would fip town/scum, but we could learn a huge deal from wagon movement as well. If you think you're town and you believe there's scum on your wagon, don't you think it would be interesting to see who would be eager to switch from you onto him when his wagon starts getting traction?
On the first thing said, I think he's shady town, just on the surface. (To be fair, I haven't looked at everything about him yet. This is just my initial perception.) Since it is the former, this fits into the bigger picture in that he might be trying to seem sort of scummy so the maf don't kill him N1, such that he can contribute more D2 (Re: "good reads" and "my intelligence" posts). Dan would be a good lynch in that the Dan vs me wagons would likely segregate maf from town if Dan flips maf, and makes ALAK/Timur look terrible if he flips town. Personally I think he'll flip town. Further, do we want to cut out our most active poster by far? What doesn't add up with the case that Dan=maf is that, what maf would put themselves out there to such an extent, with TvK/Timur/ALAK scumhunting (or pretending to scumhunt) so aggressively? As for wagonomics, I would be very much interested to see who switches from me to Dan in the event a wagon on him gains serious traction. Rn he has 3 votes to my 5, we'll see what goes down.
I'll only vote myself if a consensus can be reached that lynching me would be the most beneficial to town. Seeing as others have doubts, I'll back off from a self-vote for now.
You also raised the question of my not voting anyone; that's a valid point, so I think I'll pressure someone who I think hasn't to my knowledge been investigated well enough by anyone yet. [vote]John[/vote] We really need to get some pressure on him, as he's gotten away with little to no substance in his posts thus far.
johnboy81918 wrote on 08/12/16 at 10:32:38:Dan and Leone have now both stated that lynching them would help town. Surely it's more helpful to town if more townies are alive? Also, if it's going to help *you* solve the game if *you* die, well, you'll have trouble sharing that information with us after you're dead. Timur already asked Dan this question, but now I want to pose it to Leone as well: since your death is somehow helpful to town, who should we be most suspicious of IF you flip town?
ALAKTORN by a mile. He came out guns blazing at me from the get-go. You, TYG and Dan also look really bad because you/they were eager to wagon me on one/two crappy posts.
I have to work out the implications of Dan flipping town/maf still, as I haven't taken a detailed look at his interactions yet.
