Sure, this discipline might not get much love but it should have a topic... Smiley

I was curious if anybody knows how the item roulette precisely works since this helps considering your options in non-sc?

At least with quick runs, you can retry quickly and get replays which makes sitting for those perfect item sets more tolerable plus proof! For those that are bored, just post your best times which will more than likely fill out the other charts (non/sc - 50/100/150cc). I'll get to it eventually, lol.

This is a perfect example of items depending on your character!

If you let the roulette come to a stop on it's own, Toad and Yoshi will always get a shroom off the first set here. This means far fewer retries to at least pick up a couple extra shrooms for a nice sub. Bowser usually gets stuck with a green shell but will occasionally get a ghost which steals a star. With enough luck, I could probably suck out a decent run with him but grabbing three shrooms with Toad is way easier!

On some other tracks, stopping the roulette at a certain point or simply not reaching the item box fast as possible can yield somewhat repeatable results. That just might be in my head but there are a lot of places where the number of times a shroom pops up makes me believe it's not entirely random.

It took about a year to pull off, but I managed to find myself satisfied with the 480 times I drove!

It was a labor of love and helped me in TT's as well, God bless mksc!
