I think we should certainly discuss other suspects before D2 though.

Why not put the heat on J-Cop by switching your vote?

Because J-Cop will probably not respond at all anymore today. He seems to have checked out, and I don't expect him to post here again before the deadline, actually.

Idk though, I'm pretty confident on my YS vote. More so on that than J-Cop. It would be pretty good to get a mafia d1. If YS is mafia it might be likely Walter is too, but we definitely need to hear from him more before we make a decision.  If we don't hear from him d2 I think he's a good lynch.

Walter had 2 posts, one post checking into the game and one sticking his vote down on YS. How does a Yoshi!scum flip indicate to you that Walter is also scum? I'm not seeing the connection there.

Clarification:

Random Town could be any of the Town roles written in the OPs. It cannot be a "Vanilla Townie".

We should Lynch YS 51st the 32nd of the day, wait out the night, then put on the heat for J-Cop and see how we reacts while we interrogate eoJ on his role.
If YS is Mafia we will have eliminated a Mafia member which is good for the town, and then we can focus on other suspects. I'm not saying J-Cop is good, I'm saying the lynch on YS is better for day 1. Of YS and J-Cop are m/m, then J-Cop will act differently D2. Same with Walter if he's Mafia. That is, if he ever posts. I'm not trying to cover anything, I just don't like lynching newbies on day one.  Maybe they look scummy because they really are mafia, but it could also be because they have no clue how to play this game yet.  I'd rather lynch someone with more experience on day one.  An experienced player who looks scummy is more likely to be mafia than a first time who looks scummy imo

I do agree with this J-Cop post, which in this case is supporting his own lynching over Yoshistar. It's a risk-reward consideration that could mean losing an experienced townie D1 if he's lynched. However I don't see him rushing to come defend himself if more votes start to pile up, as he's ignored pressure for most of the game.

My primary reason with keeping my vote on Yoshistar is his response to pressure. The "oh well, looks like you guys picked the wrong guy, congrats on lynching a townie  Undecided" response is universally scummy and is usually a substitute for a lack of any defense. This could also be a natural noob response but I don't really see it that way.

Locky asked what my thoughts were. And yeah it looked like Walter jumped on the wagon right away. Might have voted YS to blend in with town. But that's just a thought. We obviously haven't heard enough from him to even close to guarantee anything.

And yet he wants to save Joe due to Joe's experience, funny how that works eh? It's just more noncommittal stuff from Jon "yeah they could be mafia but they could also be town" seriously that doesn't help. It's like the third time he's decided to take the fence sitting approach to things.

That’s what it is.

I understand people don’t feel like jumping on the J-Cop wagon because they think he wouldn’t be around to defend himself… but if he’s gonna be a useless townie that doesn’t even post right before the end of the day why keep him around anyway?

@No Control: I absolutely have no idea why you think trying to come up with a way to talk to blackmailed people is so important. That’s not hard to do. I think planning out night actions between everybody is a much more intelligent thing to do yet I’ve been shot down on that without any real basis by others.

I gotta go to the gym… I’ll be back minutes before the day ends. Don’t go ending it early now.

I agree it is odd that after saying that his vote is on Yoshistar rather than eoJ. Looking at the post he made defending eoJ:

J-Cop wrote on 05/15/16 at 12:39:00:
I'm not as convinced about Joe as some of you are.  It would be a huge slip for a maf to make himself look so bad on D1, and Joe has been maf many times before.  He knows how to play the part, I doubt he'd make it so obvious this early in the game if he really was mafia.  As for Yoshistar, he's never played on a forum before.  As I've said earlier, new players tend to shoot themselves in the foot because they don't know how to behave yet in a game like this.  He could be maf, but he could just as easily be incompetent town.

I get most of my reads based on how people vote.  If we lynch Joe and he is town, we lose him but have a good read on Clark and Tim, who seem to be pushing the Joe wagon the hardest right now.  If we lynch Yoshistar and he turns up town, it would give us a good read on TvK and maybe Lafungo.  If it's going to be one or the other, I'd rather not lose Joe this early.

He kind of contradicts himself in the first half here. He brings up the point where he says he's really unsure of Yoshistar being maf or town because he's a newbie, but then a later votes him in what seems solely like an act of self-preservation. He even says in the post where he votes Yoshistar:

J-Cop wrote on 05/15/16 at 13:37:13:
J-Cop wrote on 05/15/16 at 12:39:00:

^ Nothing has changed since I said that.  I'm gonna be out for a while, so I'm gonna vote now.

[vote] Yoshistar [/vote]

So since nothing has changed he still feels unsure about Yoshistar, but instead of offering any alternative suspects or any other opinions votes him anyway.

Okay, reading over this again has convinced me that J-Cop is a stronger lynch target because he's trying to fly under the radar and avoid defending himself. At the same time he appears to have completely contradicted himself when discussing his lean on Yoshistar.

[vote]J-Cop[/vote].

I believe this should equalize the wagons at 7 votes each.

Ok, so I dont know if ive left this too late in the day. But I can prove Joe is at best 100% lying about his roleclaim, or at worst scum.

I can only do this by roleclaiming myself. Im Town Lookout.

I thought he was sketchy before he claimed, but being the Lookout, I knew his claim was BS. I personally think the wagon on Yoshi is wrong, and being fuelled by mafia. (J-Cop, Vinnie, and possibly DB).

I can prove my claim Day 2 as well. If im still here.

Yoshistar, now is the time to start posting/contributing if you don't want to get lynched

Eoj because it's scum all the way.

I'd go for Walter, Eoj seems to be convinced as a townie, but that doesn't mean he's cleared.

Not sure whether I'm interpreting this right (you going from a mafia lean on Eoj to a town lean), but what changed your mind in regards to Eoj's affiliation?

If Joe does by some stretch of the imagination turn up town, I have no idea why he is claiming to be Lookout.

But ive had my doubts about J-Cop aswell. Id by happy with a lynch on him or Joe as I suspect both of them are scum.

I'm sticking to YS because he's basically admitted he's Mafia at this point.

I was thinking about Walter's 2nd post, (I'm to last to quote it, you look it up), he's really sending some bad vibes to me. He quotes a post that explains why we shouldn't lynch eoJ (the quoted post was from J-Cop) and immediately says to vote YS, the bandwagon at the time. He's looking to me like a Mafia trying to blend in with town. We shouldn't vote him yet, but if he doesn't start posting D2, we should pressure him.
