There's 4 possible outcomes with Joe at night.

1. They leave him alone, Joe watches someone and if need be can confirm himself by saying X visited Y. X can confirm/deny it if need be. It's possible that Joe and X could collude that as mafia but eventually it would backfire hard so probably wouldn't happen. If Joe claims X visited Y and X denies it, then there's your lynch.

2. They kill him, that's fine, he was a lynchable townie that now drew the night kill, a decent enough scenario given the circumstances.

3. They roleblock him, preventing him from watching someone to confirm himself. Also fine, draws the mafia roleblock.

4. They blackmail him, preventing him from easily outing info. We can still communicate by asking him to vote the person he watched and stuff. Not to mention, Joe being blackmailed wouldn't be the end of the world either.

All this is lost if we lynch him. His play so far with the riddles has been sporadic at best but I don't think it's alignment indicative. It's just bad play as either side. Again it's one thing if he claimed something unverifiable like bodyguard, but lookout is fully verifiable.

I think this is spot on, and was basically the assessment I had early on in the game. Yes, I should not have hinted towards it and I admit it was a bad play, but the scenarios work out better for the town than it ever would for the mafia. Let's hope I don't swing and miss tonight.

I do. I’m honestly not even sold on the fact that Yoshistar is mafia, despite my vote. I’m far more wary of all the experienced players– such as J-Cop (still suspicious of Fank as well). Brett’s been the only experienced player whose play I liked. He posted a lot, tried to get info and such. J-Cop, Fank and many others not so much, despite being experienced players therefor I’d expect more from them if they were town.

Like Locky said, Yoshistar may just as well be noob town as he is noob mafia.

Is Yoshistar cracking under the heat the only reason were pushing for a lynch? I cant help but think hes gonna turn out to be town and its been maf the whole time pushing for it.

Guess im still undecided. Either way, my vote stays on Joe. Just agreeing with Brett the whole time doesnt clear you. Besides, ive been on him hard today and it would be silly of me to remove my vote based on little evidence.
