I think everyone is jumping the gun a little bit on you.  It's been years since we had a mafia game here and Joe is rusty.

I would vote Yoshikarter before Joe if those are the two options to lynch today.

FYI, Yoshikarter = DBMK64 Tongue (he used to be Yoshikarter89 as he is now on twitch)

lol.  I knew it it was yoshi with another word after it but i didn't bother confirming it by looking at the first post.  I looked at the top of the mb in the twitch stream and saw yoshikarter so i assumed it was right.

If a bandwagon jumped on DBmk64 i would certainly jump on it.

TvK, Timothy, and Yoshistar are my biggest leans so far. They were very quick to pounce on me once there was any sort of momentum moving toward my direction.

Zarkov is 100% convinced that I'm mafia, so maybe he's actually mafia for like the 8th consecutive game.

Tyler is right, it has been years since I've played, so again, this wasn't my best first day. Typically I like to hang back and see how the day develops (which I sort of did) by not voting until I've been pretty sure (which I'm not yet). The heat came on me pretty fast so any vote that I would have done would have surely been seen as a way to deter attention, which shouldn't be done.

Again, a lynch on me actually could be good for the town because it'll justify everything I've said. Of course it'd be better to snag a mafia by chance, but by lynching me and seeing that I wasn't scum will prove my innocence and would put heat on those who ran with the false accusation.  Smiley

What do you think of Zac, who jumped immediatly on you after Tim did, without explaining anything. And if Yoshistar is a scum lean, than why won't you join the wagon?

Ok, time to explain myself...
A lot of you guys are calling me a scummy, inexperienced Mafia, which I get, because I look like I don't know what I'm doing.

What does everyone think about Racer727?

About J-Cop and Dan, I agree with what Brett said earlier about how we shouldn't lynch such a major player this early, as it could hurt us if it were a mislynch. Racer isn't contributing much, and his contributions have little substance, which makes him the perfect D1 lynch, in my opinion

Racer is behaving the exact same way I did the first time I played.  I was town and had no clue what I was doing, so I didn't post much.  I got lynched because of it.  Losing me didn't hurt the town too badly since I was basically useless, but a mislynch is a mislynch either way.  Racer is probably doing the same thing I did, testing the waters a little bit before he really jumps in.  We should at least keep him around until day 2 to see if he picks it up a little bit.

The best thing I can do right now is give my reads and their proof. (BTW, I take what I said about Zac and Vinnie [vote]un vote[\vote] )
Brett - Definately town, he has a lot to say and all of it has substance, something extremly hard to do if he were Mafia.
Vinnie -Scummy in the sense he changes his vote all the time the second the spotlight moves to someone else, but I doubt that he could be Mafia considering how much he posts and acts
Zac -He's giving me inexperience, but he's most likely town. I mean, he did point out this:

The mafia can be lurking in these forums and read these messages XP
I think we should probably not do that...... Also, if we did that, everybody would  know who the mafia would be and the mafia would know who the townies are......

Those are the people that gave me impressions of townies that I could use proof for, most everyone else I have no idea. The people that strike as suspicious are eoJ and Yoshistar for the reasons people have established, but I don't have any good proof for me thinking that. Undecided
I honestly have no idea for J-Cop, everyone else I'll just watch. (Yes, Iknow, very vague promisses.)

The worst thing I could do at this point is to jump on a wagon because it only makes me look like even more scum that everyone already seems to think. But I totally forgot about Zac because I think he might have posted once and just threw his name onto the list of people who really wanted my head.

So I pretty much can't vote at this point without it looking extremely scummy. That's the hand I gave myself though, so I'll own it.  Undecided

So
All the while people who haven't said nearly anything at all get a free pass. Mafia games are so tricky like that...   Cool

People who don't post much tend to get their comeuppance. It makes sense that a lynch would go in the direction of someone active because there is information on that person. Even if it's 50/50 that's better than lynching someone silent on D1 which is literally a stab in the dark.

Quote:
So you've made up your mind on Day 1 even though I went out of my way to answer all of your questions? I obviously can't get to everyone's all the time and have missed quite a few, but I think it's pretty clear that I'm not mafia.

You didn't go out of your way to answer questions. #383 I asked you for your thoughts on YS and you ignored me. Instead you made some BS role claim, how on earth is that helpful for town if you're the townie you claim to be? I don't think it's clear at all that you're not mafia. Yes I was quick to pounce because as I pointed out, you had been totally vague up until that point and I wanted some substance. I'm not going to start voting for people who aren't posting, that's a cop out and doesn't gain anything. The fact that you panicked tells us something. I don't know for sure if it makes you maf or town but it doesn't exactly sit well, especially on D1, especially when there are more votes for another player and especially as someone who has played mafia before.

Totally right. I already said that this wasn't my best first day and I can see why the heat came about, which I largely put on myself.

I really don't know how else to prove that I'm town and am willing to be the first lynch. You'd be lynching an innocent person, but it's not like that'd be the first time that's happened.

At this point it seems to be either Yoshistar or me, and I've been pretty open about everything. I can't always address specific inquiries because this game has already exceeded all of the other previous mafia games I've ever played combined. Cop out, sure, but it's the truth. I mean, c'mon, what are we on, 18 pages of content already? Jesus...  Smiley

I just read through everything.  I can't tell who's scum and who's not.
I can definitely see Yoshistar (sorry  Michael,  you have been looking kinda sketchy) I can see Dan being one, sort of seems too good to be town. I still don't like Vinnie... eoj could be too, and I don't like sportsguy either. I legitimately have no idea who I'm going to vote for right now.

I'm not as convinced about Joe as some of you are.  It would be a huge slip for a maf to make himself look so bad on D1, and Joe has been maf many times before.  He knows how to play the part, I doubt he'd make it so obvious this early in the game if he really was mafia.  As for Yoshistar, he's never played on a forum before.  As I've said earlier, new players tend to shoot themselves in the foot because they don't know how to behave yet in a game like this.  He could be maf, but he could just as easily be incompetent town.

I get most of my reads based on how people vote.  If we lynch Joe and he is town, we lose him but have a good read on Clark and Tim, who seem to be pushing the Joe wagon the hardest right now.  If we lynch Yoshistar and he turns up town, it would give us a good read on TvK and maybe Lafungo.  If it's going to be one or the other, I'd rather not lose Joe this early.

Eoj definitely seems like a more experienced player, so he would be more of a loss than YS if we lynched him by mistake...

It looks like we're going to have to choose one of them... so for now

@TVK no reason in particular,  I just think we need to lynch the right person since there's still a high chance of a mislynch.
