TYG even had his vote on you for a grand total of 6 posts. Does that have anything to do with your scumread of him?

There wasn't really any deciding factor. I'm waiting to see their responses, and Racer in particular hasn't posted anything with substance.

I also disagree with the idea that we should reveal what we'll do at night. Either ALAKTORN is a terrible mafia (which I highly doubt), or he meant that we list about 2-3 people for each action

No, I didn’t mean that we list a bunch of people. I still don’t see how discussing night 1 actions is wrong. Especially with a team of town newbies, we need to make sure they don’t fuck up. Anyway, I brought up the Bodyguard because I couldn’t think of the roles back in my post, but the Bodyguard is one thing we shouldn’t discuss because the mafia can read that too. We can still discuss a ton of other roles without mafia gaining anything from it, though. Role blocker, sheriff, vigilante, lookout… what is the downside to discussing any of this?

I think we should probably not do that...... Also, if we did that, everybody would  know who the mafia would be and the mafia would know who the townies are......

What? The mafia already knows that, that’s how the game works. You seem a bit lost.

Doesn’t this confirm that the claims of “mafia would’ve shut Vinnie up” are without foundation? If they can’t post in the forum until the day is over, how would they shut him up?

Also I was thinking– if we lynch someone on day 1, that would mean they won’t get to act at night, right…? And this game is filled with power roles. I can see no lynching being a good idea to let the night play out, since town doesn’t have a single vanilla going by the mod’s posts (neither does mafia I guess). At first I thought lynching every day would be simple game theory, but I wasn’t thinking about roles. With these many roles I don’t see why not lynching is as bad of an idea as others have made it out to be.

Fank hasn’t really done anything to clear my suspicion of him yet. Vinnie is also back on my radar now.

Nvm, thought I might cast a thewebinator vote but upon re-reading I chose not to. I would however appreciate if he gave us some mafia leans [has only mentioned his town ones, being Brett and Vinnie]

Plus Kyle didn't really do much after my post other than reply and note that he has a TYG mafia lean

I'm suspicious of someone like Yoshistar who I feel like would have been posting more if he was town, I think he would take a very wait-and-see approach if he was mafia (like he has) but not willing to vote for him yet.

It was very late, so I went to bed, I'm now reading the whole shit and I have no solid info yet who might be mafia.
If you think I'm suspicious, then
so be it Tongue

I stay with my current vote for now, it seems the focus didn't settle on a person yet..... so yes, I kinda wait for the good moment, but I post some too like now at this very moment.

I'll post again when I've finished reading the rest of the posts.

Then what do you think of for example Vinnie's suspicion of Racer and TYG? What do you make of Locky's vote on Kyle? Do you just think that none of the people that have votes on them are suspicious? And if you have no clue on who else might be maf, at least try to ask some questions around.

Anyways, as I said before, I'm still not sure on who I might want to vote on, but Vinnie was suspicious at first, but now...... he might be town after all.

Hey, I'm online quick before I go to chess. There still seems to be that negative vibe going towards me,  but I'm pretty sure that I have already explained my innocence decently well in that I saw a lot of people making random accusations because it was funny,  so I did the same. I litterally said in the same post that there was a high chance of a mislynch... the "obviously fucking mafia" thing just sounded funny to me lol and I picked Vinnie because he seemed the most like mafia to me. I'm not sure about him now.

Some quick thoughts

posting styles of no control/tvk deserve something along the lines of a day 3 analysis

DansGame wrote on 05/15/16 at 03:45:12:
As far as my initial "no lynch" vote, like I said I'm used to IRL mafia games where there are no reveals and so it makes sense not to lynch day 1 (I still feel that).  Yeah looking back it was dumb of me to put a no lynch vote out right away not really thinking about the differences between forum mafia with reveals and IRL mafia without reveals, but I changed it to no vote upon listening to the people with more forum experience and do plan to vote for someone before the end of the day.  I wouldn't read too much into a no-lynch vote either way, if I was mafia I would definitely have waited to pile onto someone easy.  BTW Fank, I'm a musician and like going along with the role-playing style of Shock's first post.

Right now I'm still going back and rereading posts to try to get a feel for the people I don't know as well (the not kart 64 people basically).  I'm also curious to see people post who haven't posted much or at all yet such as Sam F or Walter.  I'm suspicious of someone like Yoshistar who I feel like would have been posting more if he was town, I think he would take a very wait-and-see approach if he was mafia (like he has) but not willing to vote for him yet.

I think we should carefully look back on the posting between Brett, Vinnie, and TYG to see if we can learn anything.  Both TYG and Vinnie have been changing their minds at Brett's behest and maybe there's something we can glean from that.

-hmm, interesting maybe I'm putting too much weight into it.
-you may have something in regards to brett's interactions. there must be some pretty big bat signals in place to tell vinnie to shut up.

16 power roles, losing one won't significantly hurt our power output, (pending on which one will determine the degree of hurt, but we shouldnt really be that hurt.)

I think there's more value in having a lynch then there is giving everyone a night action. the information gained will only be useful 3 nights down the road while votes can help determine where loyalties lie.

You say that he felt the most like mafia. So who else we're you scum reading but felt slightly less like maf? And what made you unsure about him? Just the fact that Brett thought he was town?

Mafia cannot post on their forum during Day phases. Players may read into this what they may, but keep in mind that Mafia can pretend to be oblivious as well to try give themselves "townie" cred.

Once a player is dead, by lynching or otherwise, they cannot use Night actions.

He was posting a lot and changing his mind a lot, but I guess posting a lot is something a town would do so idk about him anymore. The next most player I'm suspicious of is actually Dan. He's obviously an experienced player and no lynching seems to be something an inexperienced player or mafia would say. But he has also explained his opinion there. Sportsguy was giving me a large mafia vibe too. Judging by his posts it seems like he and Brett could be in together,  although I haven't gotten a strong mafia vibe from Brett yet. I litterally have no idea what to think of fank yet, I can't get a good read but a lot of people seem to think he's mafia so idk.

It's easier to focus on the players like Racer727 and Zac who aren't contributing much. We can leave the big players for later days when they have multiple counts against them.

Why do you immediatly pair sportsguy and Brett? Even though you specifically even mention that you don't think Brett is scum. Also do you think maybe one of them would say something to confirm your scumread, or maybe say something that even clears them of suspicion if you'd place a vote on them?

Fank has made no posts between your earlier post and the one you have just posted. Why do you feel like he might be mafia now?

Maybe I had other things in my mind at the time (I wasn’t sure if Brett was mafia or not yet). I don’t really remember honestly. I think I’m just slowly getting up to speed.

Guys I was thinking… for the night actions, is it really normal to just let roles do their own thing? Shouldn’t we anonimately discuss (without role claims) what roles should be doing? Like, who the Bodyguard should protect, who to role block and shit… shouldn’t the whole town discuss that?

This might become relevant later on but could be difficult to orchestrate, especially with Mafia at full capacity.

Anyway so far Alaktorn seems to be the boy who cried Mafia, amazing skill to have it figured out 1% into the game.

What does this mean?

Yeah I realised. Oh well I'll sum it up here.

Vinnie switching to Dan to No Lynch to me is giving me some sort of suspicion. "
Wouldn't the easiest lynch be the one that affects the game the least?" No. Why waste a lynch on someone inactive and away (timezones yo) than to actually consider who could me mafia instead of making "an easy lynch"?
