Would a list of player's timezones be useful? Because Locky's vote obvs makes no sense but maybe he didn't know I'm from England.

(Just an FYI, I will be able to post a lot more this evening, I am currently spending the weekend with a friend so am just on NY phone).

My previous Mafia experience comes solely from this forum. Those who have played with me probably know I tend to post a little on the lower side, but that's only really based on interest levels/IRL commitments, it doesn't mean I don't care. Anyway, we'll see how this game goes.

Locky if you want to pressure people then make sure they're online otherwise you look desperate to show you're active/can contribute. But hey, Mafia have to pretend to be silly innocent townies right?

@fank: Hmm… I agree with you those posts by TYG look like mafia. You’re still mafia to me, though. Kinda all of a sudden jumping in and trying too hard to clear yourself.

Locky wrote on 05/14/16 at 19:14:53:
Fank has made no posts between your earlier post and the one you have just posted. Why do you feel like he might be mafia now?

Maybe I had other things in my mind at the time (I wasn’t sure if Brett was mafia or not yet). I don’t really remember honestly. I think I’m just slowly getting up to speed.

Guys I was thinking… for the night actions, is it really normal to just let roles do their own thing? Shouldn’t we anonimately discuss (without role claims) what roles should be doing? Like, who the Bodyguard should protect, who to role block and shit… shouldn’t the whole town discuss that?

This might become relevant later on but could be difficult to orchestrate, especially with Mafia at full capacity.

Anyway so far Alaktorn seems to be the boy who cried Mafia, amazing skill to have it figured out 1% into the game.

This sequence of posts made me vote Vinnnie last night. No idea if his virst Dan vote was a random vote, but why the heck would he just jump off of him and vote no lynch for no obvious reason. Also he has really weird interactions with Dan. So far, I like where I put my vote, even though I barely remember putting it there.

At the beginning of page 3 now.

Don't do this. It's scummy as hell. What do you think for example of the votes already cast? Is there someone you could follow in voting someone? Anything is better than dodging to do some digging yourself and sticking with a no lynch.

Pretty much. Would seem strange for mafia to come into the thread with a very attenion-drawing first post about advocating or a no-lynch D1. His explanation for his thoughts afterwards sounded reasonable too

Ok, woke up and found 100 new posts, i like it Cheesy

First of all Fank's post #172 is awesome. A lot of good stuff on Vinnie, theyouggun and racer.

A lot has been said on Vinnie, a lot of weird posts and i agree it raised some flags. But then i started thinking, no one is standing up for this guy, he just might be a bit lost. I see some people now think he is probably town. I had that thought as well, but don't say it!!!!
He was a perfect bait. As soon as theyoungun shoot himself in the foot :

LewisRichards wrote on 05/14/16 at 17:34:54:
Lynching gets us information,  It's hard to break apart the information with a shit tonne of posts... there is a high chance of a mislynch d1, but it's lynch or be killed. If we lynch Vinnie not only do we have a lot less posts to deal with,  but but he keeps changing his mind on shit, open your eyes people and close his, he's obviously fucking mafia.

[Vote]Vinnie729[/vote]

Brett comes with this post

Robertvz wrote on 05/14/16 at 17:35:14:
Personally I don't think Vinnie has a strong chance of flipping scum, he's awfully active in chat discussion and that's more times than not a town tell. Scum like to blend in more than that, he's intentionally drawing the spotlight, something scum don't want. He does seem a bit misguided though in his philosophies.

... and then people say, yeah you are right... and the bait is gone  Tongue

And then another one by Brett:

Robertvz wrote on 05/14/16 at 18:03:29:
The problem this game is I have a feeling scum will make around 8 posts per day phase and based on the way this pace is going it's looking like 8 posts will be better than half the players. And it's going to be hard to distinguish between scum not posting a lot and townies who don't care enough/are too worried about their own image to post much. If you're town, post a lot, ask questions, sitting on your ass and posting only a handful of times a day is not going to cut it this game.

I picked up on that thing about mafia about posting in the middle as well, but why would you say that? Now they can just say lets spread out on post range. This info basically became useless once you said it.

I know a lot of posting is pro town, but you can post too much or better to say do it in the wrong moment.

Can you elaborate a little on this? Saying they're suspicious doesn't tell me anything. Why are they suspicious? I want reasons behind reads on people.

Still waiting for this elaboration, also check my answer in #49 replay on your vote for me. Do you have something to say about that?

Locky wrote on 05/14/16 at 17:39:43:

Dan advocating for no lynch = probably town

How is this probably town based on no lynch, can you explain?

Sportsguy001 wrote on 05/14/16 at 18:52:07:
Today is pretty much meaningless.  It will be straight luck if we lynch a mafia member.

I'm most suspicious of DB64.

Everybody else?  who knows.

Today is not meaningless, we have over 200 posts, there is info...

And yes, why is Dan most likely town?... i don't get it  Undecided. He gave a good explanation about no lynch thing, but calling for it is a minor red flag. There are people who haven't done anything remotely suspicious like that and Dan is probably, also 90% town?

Sportsguy001 wrote on 05/14/16 at 19:01:03:
The mafia is going to try kill off experienced players and let the newbies run the town into the ground.

I'm sure they had the same thought process, but in case they didn't they might thank you for it at the end of the game. Why would you give them ideas?

Racer727 wrote on 05/14/16 at 20:09:42:

I really don't know what to think right now, so I'm standing by my decision of not lynching.

Like J-Cop said, until I have an opinion or strong thoughts, I probably can't add much to the discussion.
Vinnie and Brett look like townies, or else the Mafia members would be screaming at then. Smiley
I can't really get on for 15-18 hours for personal reasons, but I'll post if I can.
Peace.

Dude, there are 200 posts and you have no opinion at all and staying with no lynch  Smiley

I have my main suspects, you can probably guess some from my posts, but i want to gather more info before making a serious accusation.

I will reread and if i find something more i'll post again.

Zoran, I don't think we need to throw out what Brett said, we can look back at when he made that post and see if anyone changed their posting history a lot after he said it.  Brett coming out with that information might have made mafia members think 2nd thoughts about their posting and change what they are doing, so we should go back and look if anyone's modified their amount of posting or if anyone does that significantly today.

As far as my initial "no lynch" vote, like I said I'm used to IRL mafia games where there are no reveals and so it makes sense not to lynch day 1 (I still feel that).  Yeah looking back it was dumb of me to put a no lynch vote out right away not really thinking about the differences between forum mafia with reveals and IRL mafia without reveals, but I changed it to no vote upon listening to the people with more forum experience and do plan to vote for someone before the end of the day.  I wouldn't read too much into a no-lynch vote either way, if I was mafia I would definitely have waited to pile onto someone easy.  BTW Fank, I'm a musician and like going along with the role-playing style of Shock's first post.

Right now I'm still going back and rereading posts to try to get a feel for the people I don't know as well (the not kart 64 people basically).  I'm also curious to see people post who haven't posted much or at all yet such as Sam F or Walter.  I'm suspicious of someone like Yoshistar who I feel like would have been posting more if he was town, I think he would take a very wait-and-see approach if he was mafia (like he has) but not willing to vote for him yet.

I think we should carefully look back on the posting between Brett, Vinnie, and TYG to see if we can learn anything.  Both TYG and Vinnie have been changing their minds at Brett's behest and maybe there's something we can glean from that.
