Jon I wasn't going to use that move on Walter Web or Sportsguy. TYG/Kyle were potentially it.

I did have a second play, if a mafia was to be lynched, I was going to say "hey you can blame your partner TYG for losing you the game, not only did he spew Tim/Zac as lock townies, he was so angry about it that he raged at me and deleted the posts and left in shame!" He never spewed Zac as town but I was hoping it would get another slip up or something. When Zac got modkilled I didn't have a comfortable enough unclear townread other than ALAKTORN (whom everyone accepted was town) to try that play with their name. Zarkov Jon and Vinnie were all in on the plan because I PMed them on the dead chat board. I didn't want to tell Walter since he could screw with it.

Given the situation, I would have modkilled Zac, had the day end at that moment, count it as the day's lynch. Ending a lynch early hurts town, that's the best way to go about it. If a mafia gets modkilled let the day continued otherwise there's some angleshooting going on (like if I'm confirmed mafia I screenshot my role post it get modkilled but now day is only minutes long).

Zoran TvK and Dan were really good players, I never had Dan as scum all game. Sportsguy I thought was town day 1 but as the days went on that switched very quickly.

Yeah, that probably would've been better in hindsight. I think I've learned some things that'll help me host better in the future, so thanks for your input here and in other places.

Honestly there were way too many people talking about the game outside of the thread. Talking about mafia as a party game in its generalized form is fine, there were people specifically talking about the very game they were in.

ALAKTORN also had a lot of angleshooting in his posts such as asking people for technical PM specifics and stuff. I don't think he did this to intentionally mess with the game but I had him as basically zero chance to be scum. Even without him as a clear though it was autowin.

And Zac...jesus man how can you make that mistake?

game thoughts.

I thought the setup was fairly balanced. The biggest problem was the fact that everybody got notified if they got boosted/blocked. and you can easily verify that X boosted Y, so it felt like a named townie role. Lookouts "visiting" was something new for me. Maf definetly needed some counters. Like some invisible town roles or their own lookout.

Game wise - having clears easily,  Mafia did a mediocre job. town definetly had the upper hand after D2 (slip's dont help) I know there are a lot of people who still would have been suspected (racer in particular). The game definetly would have lasted a few more days at least, but it still looked town directed.

I think a few problems like "exact words" still haunts a bit. wanting as "much clarification from the mod as possible". Wouldnt mind something like this again but maybe try to limit how much information is given from night actions.

Honestly Fank I didn't really think you were town at all this game. That ended up being irrelevant in the end though. So no I wasn't screaming from the graveyard for people to not lynch you.

Fun fact though, the only obstacle standing in the way of auto was if people didn't believe Vinnie's medium claim. Which would be strange as hell but possible theoretically. I had a quote typed up that only I could have written which would have confirmed that Vinnie was medium since if he wasn't there's no way the scum team could know about the stuff in this message:

"Zoran one time I was an updater for the MK64 site and I sucked ass at it, I can describe the whole MK64 updating process which involved tediously updating stuff in excel and sending it to you, where you edited it and sent it to Lacey. Chris was the other updater at the time, we all had each other on MSN. Dan I always go into your streams and tell you to play NTSC, or at least I used to. One time you banned me temporarily for saying that. Fank we played in a game of mafia over on twoplustwo, I died night 2, you died later on and scum went on to win at threeway lylo. ALAKTORN we had a discussion years ago on MSN about how many frames each kart's MT lasts and which karts can PRB, it takes 46 frames of MT to PRB properly. I guess others can know that but I think I said enough for you all to verify that this topic was indeed written by me."

Basically that quote was designed so that the only people who could confirm it were the people mentioned. There was enough of them to confirm it's legitimate as I specifically mention Zoran Fank Dan Tim and ALAKTORN. I never ended up needing it though because mafia conceded before Vinnie got back to post it.

ya, everythings alright XP given the context, i was mainly to blame but the punishmentnwaskinda out of nowhere and it did scare me a little, excpeccailly if your bro didn't tell you when he had the divice for an hour xP

I was way off on what I predicted the protective roles would do. It was confirmed that there were four of them, with a guaranteed doc and an additional 3 locked in by the setup. I anticipated that all the protection would go to me/Zarkov/TvK/Joe, and that scum wouldn't go for them as a result. I was right on the second part and that's all that matters. But all four of us were killable that night. Only TvK attempted to protect Zarkov but he was blocked regardless.

Idk what Yoshistar was thinking protecting himself. Scum wouldn't kill the person who was the counterwagon to the J-Cop town lynch.

Locky perhaps thought on the same wavelength as me, Dan was a viable option that I did have in mind. I guess I'm indirectly responsible for the TYG kill as Lafungo wouldn't have been able to make the kill otherwise, guess I redeemed myself for the wrong Jon lynch.

Tim didn't even submit a night action, idk why, maybe he planned on the game lasting long enough/him surviving long enough to use them at a better day, or maybe he just forgot. I submitted mine because I didn't think I'd ever last four night phases.

Oddly enough the six lowest post counts on day 1 were (from most to least): Dan, Sportsguy, J-Cop, kyle, Sam, Walter. Four of them were scum. TYG did a fairly acceptable job given it was his first ever game and he had the most difficult role to play. He kept his post count high which was more than I really thought he'd do. Surely did some mistakes in this game but I didn't play perfect in my first game either.

Scum had problems in that a lot of the town roles were verifiable. Such as backer, lookout, vigilante. And the setup rolled extras on all of them (8/16 townies were backer, lookout, or vig). Even claiming escort isn't easy, or in Web's case consort lmao, because if you're caught blocking an obvious town people are going to question you a lot. Scum might have faired better if they had a watcher instead of blackmailer which is stupid as a role to begin with and can be circumnavigated by a decent town. Not that it mattered since the RNG gave them no blackmailers, but it wouldn't have made Joe/Clark cleared so easily and Zoran was only clear because he couldn't be any logical scum role.

drawing backer and getting blocked N1 didnt help. I thought for a while alak may have been a town roleblocker so I tried to drop some hints. that interaction with dan and TYG I was like, I'm dead. I'm so dead (I'm surprised no one went back to read) So I was like, eh lets try roll the dice a bit. It was so opportunistic. I was hoping that my "knowledge" will help me but people can jump to conclusions pretty quickly. the sooner I joined dead chat the quicker I may help town win 5 minutes earlier (hindsight)

its a shame there was no day chat, I wanted maf response on joe's scan that night.

Reading dead chat was somewhat dissapointing but a +1 to my style of scumhunting

I think my playstyle may have changed way too much. I think I've developed a problem of "leading thoughts". I prolly need to develop that skill a bit more of putting words down to paper.


I think one problem there was is that everything felt was set in stone. all (3?) lynches. I think that can demotivate anyone. Day 1 I couldn't really get going, d2 we had webs slip

Good game guys, yay town. And thanks for hosting Shock, it certainly seemed like it was an intensive job lol.

Webs slip was hilarious, as was Bretts dupe on TYG. Its a shame he deleted his posts, as his realization was the funny bit. I apologize for my dumb townslip Day 1, though it turned out ok lol.

Fun game, with a lot more discussion than I expected and some nice play by a few. Namely Brett, TvK, Zoran, and Lafungo.

Dan did well as a maf too. My gut thought he was maf all along, but he played well enough to cast doubts all the time.
