I don't know if I'm jumping the gun here, but I've just reread the entire first day to see how Web interacted with other people. Once again, I can't help but find that the most suspicious interactions are with Tyg.
The only times they explicitly mention each other come in the first 11 pages. For no reason, the first time Tyg mentions Web, he says this:
LewisRichards wrote on 05/14/16 at 18:20:58:Hmmm
Town:
I think Locky is probably town
I think Kyle is too, Dan raised a good point that he would probably act like that either way.
thewebinator and Za€ also seem like town...
I still don't have opinions on the others yet...
No reason why, at all. The only thing Web had done by then, was asking a couple of questions to Vinnie. Then the first time Web mentions Tyg is on page 11:
Web wrote on 05/15/16 at 06:10:24:Locky wrote on 05/15/16 at 04:49:55:[vote]kyleb30[/vote]
Nvm, thought I might cast a thewebinator vote but upon re-reading I chose not to. I would however appreciate if he gave us some mafia leans [has only mentioned his town ones, being Brett and Vinnie]
Plus Kyle didn't really do much after my post other than reply and note that he has a TYG mafia lean
Just woke up, re-reading now. So far (as of this post I'm quoting),
my biggest maf lean is TYG (for his ridiculous entry post). I also think it's likely that one of the members that seems absolutely clueless but hasn't posted much (Zac, Racer, maybe even Vinnie) is mafia. A bunch of people were giving the angle that they would have been shut up but mafia have yet to communicate so that accusation is worthless.
I'll post more thoughts as soon as I finish rereading.
He explicitly states that Tyg is his biggest maf lean. However, this is the last time Web ever mentions Tyg. Apparently that maf lean mysteriously disappeared. Web was more happy starting a wagon on Yoshistar, who according to him, was someone I pushed really hard just to gain towncred.
A lot closer to the end of the day, there was another strange string of posts, in which they don't really interact, but I think it's worth noting. Yoshistar's wagon (yes, the one that Web started and the one that Tyg was comfortably riding) was at 9 votes. J-Cop's was at 5. Web was still adamant about his vote on Yoshistar, until suddenly he got a change of heart in this post:
Web wrote on 05/16/16 at 05:21:47:Robertvz wrote on 05/16/16 at 05:07:01:And yet he wants to save Joe due to Joe's experience, funny how that works eh? It's just more noncommittal stuff from Jon "yeah they could be mafia but they could also be town" seriously that doesn't help. It's like the third time he's decided to take the fence sitting approach to things.
I agree it is odd that after saying that his vote is on Yoshistar rather than eoJ. Looking at the post he made defending eoJ:
J-Cop wrote on 05/15/16 at 12:39:00:I'm not as convinced about Joe as some of you are. It would be a huge slip for a maf to make himself look so bad on D1, and Joe has been maf many times before. He knows how to play the part, I doubt he'd make it so obvious this early in the game if he really was mafia. As for Yoshistar, he's never played on a forum before. As I've said earlier, new players tend to shoot themselves in the foot because they don't know how to behave yet in a game like this. He could be maf, but he could just as easily be incompetent town.
I get most of my reads based on how people vote. If we lynch Joe and he is town, we lose him but have a good read on Clark and Tim, who seem to be pushing the Joe wagon the hardest right now. If we lynch Yoshistar and he turns up town, it would give us a good read on TvK and maybe Lafungo. If it's going to be one or the other, I'd rather not lose Joe this early.
He kind of contradicts himself in the first half here. He brings up the point where he says he's really unsure of Yoshistar being maf or town because he's a newbie, but then a later votes him in what seems solely like an act of self-preservation. He even says in the post where he votes Yoshistar:
J-Cop wrote on 05/15/16 at 13:37:13:J-Cop wrote on 05/15/16 at 12:39:00:I get most of my reads based on how people vote...........I'd rather not lose Joe this early.
^ Nothing has changed since I said that. I'm gonna be out for a while, so I'm gonna vote now.
[vote] Yoshistar [/vote]
So since nothing has changed he still feels unsure about Yoshistar, but instead of offering any alternative suspects or any other opinions votes him anyway.
Okay, reading over this again has convinced me that J-Cop is a stronger lynch target because he's trying to fly under the radar and avoid defending himself. At the same time he appears to have completely contradicted himself when discussing his lean on Yoshistar.
[vote]J-Cop[/vote].
I believe this should equalize the wagons at 7 votes each.
Immediatly followed by this post:
Web wrote on 05/16/16 at 05:23:57:oh wait TYG didn't flip, then it's 8-6 Yoshistar?
Is it just me or does this seem a bit like Web is coaching Tyg to switch votes together with him? And guess who suddenly appears? Yes, you guessed it:
LewisRichards wrote on 05/16/16 at 05:27:14:Seems reason enough to try and get J-Cop if you guys want me to. We can always get YS another time I guess? I trust Brett's opinions so I guess
[Vote] J-Cop [/vote]
Take a look at the reason Tyg is giving here. He trusts Brett's opinion? Brett had had the same opinion for the last 500 posts. Apparently, Brett's opinion doesn't seem too important while riding another wagon on a townie. And now that Web switched, and specifically even mentions him, now he seems to value Brett's opinion after all.
I might be chasing shadows here, but I'd like to hear other people's opinion on this.
