SMK never had a run from a member of our community submitted to Speed Demos Archive, but this week that problem finally got fixed.  
I'm happy my 31m27s all cups run finally got posted (almost a year since I submitted it   )! Though the WR is currently 31m08s, this was still a decent run (apart from the CI2 feather fail...) and a HUGE huuuuge improvement over the runs present on SDA prior.

"I can't think of a time when I've been left feeling more hoodwinked by a run claiming it's multiplayer than this: it just so happens in Super Mario Kart, if you choose 2p mode and leave the other controller on the sofa until you've finished, by thumbing in the 2nd player's forfeit during the race end cinematics, you skip about 5 seconds of them. You also get less obstacles on the course - possibly because they had to slim the CPU load a bit, or maybe they just felt having a human opponent was challenging enough. This 0:20:25.91 is the run that taught me the Bowser music from I Wanna Be the Guy is the final race theme from this game. 'KVD' tells us he's "honoured and thrilled" to have been inducted. Well, we'll be honored [because I default to US spelling] and thrilled if you submit another one!"

Good job dude. Though it is annoying how they list yours as a seperate category. Like its somehow different to the 'single segment' run they have there aswell. You should keep bugging them to change it so yours is the main time, and not some noobs time.

Nah you missed the point kinda. They are listed like this :

Best time: Single-segment 0:25:40.73 by Jeremy 'DK28' Doll on 2014-08-03.
Best 2-player time: Single-segment 0:20:25.91 by 'KVD' on 2015-04-27.

Theyre both the same category, but because the SDA admin guys are lazy morons, they list them as two seperate categories.

But yeah they could still do what you said and take Karels best splits from each cup and have that as the record shown. But that would be too easy.

Actually 2 player mode is considered an entirely separate category (officially it'd be in the co-op bracket), which is why I does not obsolete the 1p GP run(s) from DK28.
The SDA staff were very clear about this policy from the get go, so that's ok. As long as the run is on there.  

It's almost a little embarrassing seeing the two times side-by-side tho. Five full minutes difference in chronos? Yikes.

Five minutes isn't that much when you get 4 mushrooms/feathers on every track.

Didn't watch the run (unless I saw it live ages ago), was just judging by you recent MC1/GV3 runs that I remember. You clearly somehow tricked you snes into swaping over all your bad items with the good ones that Joe should have got (hence why he only ever gets bananas and green shells).
