Slicks are definitely better than mushrooms in most of the tracks, whatever if it's with or without shrooms. But yes, mushroom wheels are better in rAF, MP, RIW and rMC2 with pasta and can be used in MC, rWP and rDDJ, but not WL Wink

When you enter the water, you want to dive in (up on the circle pad). You will get a water boost, which is faster. You can also try Bowser + slick tires, that's what I use.
