You could always throw the hovercraft away. That vehicle is the reason I haven't unlocked TT.

TT is easy, use timber, hold R always, and move the control stick left to right so your hover does a snaking motion (hover goes faster in a turn, so doing this kinds tricks the game into thinking you're constantly turning).
