Hi VAJ, Lewi and Yoshistar.

I had a look at lichess.org and played two practice games against the machine, (computer.) I haven't looked at much of the online site but was expecting it to be straight forward to me immediately, (how to use it.) Anyway if you guys would like a standard game I'm up for it Smiley

Could take me awhile to learn how the site works properly as there is more to it than just knowing how to play standard Chess. Also Lewi, do I click on, 'Play with a friend,' and than enter a friend code or something along those lines? I'm only guessing as I am new to the site Smiley

Looking forward to our games VAJ and Lewi Smiley Hopefully we'll get a chance to play each other in the future Yoshistar Smiley

You hit "play with a friend" then you pick the settings, and then you get an internet link which you just give to the other person.

Hi Lewi, VAJ and Yoshistar,

I'd copy and paste the link for you guys to play a game of chess with me on lichess.org but above the post button for this message it says Shortcuts (Modern Browsers Only) so, I don't know what that means and whether or not I am allowed to give you guys the link on this message board.

If you guys still want a game just set one up on lichess.org and invite me to play. I tried to invite you guys with your help Lewi and your idea to play online together VAJ but like I said I don't know if I am allowed to copy and paste a link to invite you guys to verse me in a game or not. Sorry.

you can play online on your smartphones, eg Chess Time app, either with friends or randoms

advantage: make a move anytime, eg at lunch, before bed, on the bus, etc

disadvantage: not a quick game, can take hours or a day to get a response move (but you can play multiple games at the same time)

disadvantage: your opponent can have plenty of time to consult Chessmaster

It's settings are Standard, unlimited time control and random colour.

I don't know how this is going to work as I don't know when you guys are available and vice versa but I can only learn how this works Smiley

It might be better for us to schedule a chess game for a specific time. Then one of us drops off a link to the game here at that time? That should work I think.

Good idea. I know very little about different time zones but like I said this should be okay Smiley

I have closed the tab for my second lichess.org game link as there is a error message.

I am also just about to click your link Yoshistar Smiley Hope I don't mess up the game by doing this while you are offline, (off the forums for this message board.) I am not sure if I should wait for you to return to the forum or if I should just go ahead and click the link now so I will just go ahead and find out as I want to have a game before I miss the opportunity to Smiley I am finding the menus on lichess.org difficult to understand, (some options that is.)
