Bowser Castle help
06/05/15 at 11:21:40

Not sure if this is the proper place to post it, but I had a question about some strats on Bowser's Castle. Recently went from 2:06.9xx to 2:05.422 after a night of trial and error and improving, but I still have a few questions that don't relate to my imperfections.

- Why/how is it faster to not trick at the entrance to the Golem Bowser chamber and instead buffer a MT? Also, how is this done without having to correct so much you lose time? I've tried normal and soft drifts, but I always get nearly thrown off the track.

- Is it faster on lap 2 to use the left path? Or is that just what the Kyzers happened to use on the WR ghost I have? Maybe it's because I'm a few seconds behind, but I feel like it'd be better to do right-right-left instead of right-left-right given the amount of trick ramps per lap.

- How on earth do WR holders hit the dirt with their left wheels after the SC shroom/mid firehop and not slow down? Also, any tips on optimizing this turn? I'm able to get in about 4-ish timed jumps/slides, but it seems like other folks have no trouble getting in many more.

Feel free to answer as little or as many of these if you like, and thanks.

- In most instances like this charging an MT off an edge is faster than a trick. The boost length from a trick is tiny. If you're flying off you may be starting to drift too far away from the ledge (video would help).

- It depends on what Bowser is doing, that is all. So the optimum route at 2:05 level is probably different to the sub 2 level.

- They don't. Again, difficult to critique without a video.

You have to use your shroom early, and right after it ends you have to do a down softdrift ( yes lol ) which allows you to slowdown a bit and get a proper angle.

and it's a real struggle for everyone to get those hops down, they litteraly are frame timed. Sometimes you can go over the offroad patch on the right and gain a huge amount out of nowhere. But that's still difficult to master.
