I forgot to mention, a funny thing happened during my local weather report, while they were talking about the record heat. Tuesday is "Pet of the Week" for my local news, and this week's featured dog started barking during the forecast. So one of the other meteorologists had to sit with the dog to keep it quiet.

I think it's also worth mentioning, while I'm on the subject of local weather, that our main meteorologist for 30 years, Mike Reader, retired at the end of February. He wasn't just the local weatherman-- he called out the words at one of the spelling bees I competed in, and he also delivered a eulogy at the funeral for one of my relatives (can't remember which).
Weather is always fun, especially spring and fall weather in the United States. We actually had a morning below freezing less than two weeks ago. I kinda like these ups and downs, normally inland areas get greater temperature swings (wonder if any places near here actually got up to 90 today), more severe thunderstorms, and worst of all, tornadoes, but luckily the tornadoes usually don't touch down this close to the Gulf of Mexico. *knocks on wood*
