One important thing that Mick didn't mention:

We haven't received a huge amount of feedback from outsiders. The last few days Mick and I have been involved in private chats with a few people discussing the new site, mostly from outside the MK8 community however.

We're looking from feedback from everyone, since the site update will affect all people. We don't want to change the system in a way that people aren't going to be happy with. Unfortunately, without feedback it's hard to make design decisions during development.

Mainly what we want are suggestions for features, and things that should be changed compared to the original site. Also, anti-features, or things to avoid. Feel free to discuss this on this thread or in private communication with any of the team members.

Even if your suggestion has already been thought of, don't hold back because you assume it is. Telling us the suggestion will assure us that the feature is desired.

Happy Karting! Cheesy

It's far too easy to forget what it's like to be a kid. But one secret to happiness is to be able to pick out links to our childhood in the mundanities of adult life. That's why I love Mario Kart. Whether I'm imagining wading through frosting in Sweet Sweet Canyon to take a bite of that giant donut, or picturing myself, shrunken down, making my way through Waluigi's pinball machine, there's something rejuvenating about the game that provides a nice reminiscence of the halcyon days gone by.

I'm not sure if this has been asked or thought of yet, but if we were to do a log in to submit times with passwords and user names how would non-english speakers submit times if they don't understand the instructions and/or can't be contacted or submit themselves. This isn't so common on MK8, but it is very common on MK7 and believe MK8. How will those players accounts be handled? Will the site moderators submit for them?

I am curious on how this will be handled.

In fact, Bowser + Bruiser + Red Monster + Beast Glider should be used in every track. CCL is one of the weakest WRs because of that :fp:

CCL? Are you serious? This combination is just terrible and much slower for water tracks, It's impossible to get a WR with this.

First of all, the process is much simpler now. You no longer need to type times in an exact format. You just fill in a form. Secondly, we plan on transating the site into common languages (probably French and Japanese at first). Mick will likely be able to do the French translation, we'll look for a Japanese translator when the time comes. Also, there will be a help/contact form if people have questions, that you won't need to be logged in to use.

Sounds good. Hopefully it will come to MK7 really soon.
I wish you guys continued luck on this project.  Smiley
