WRCC 2K14 -- Elite 8.4 Open!
01/10/15 at 23:04:27

It's back ppl! Long time no update, blame whatever the heck you want idc at this point, it's high time to cap this competition off!

Yo, if you haven't noticed yet, I went ahead and changed the name of the contest from WRC to WRCC-- or, the WR Contest Conspiracy!
---
BY POPULAR DEMAND, what was formerly known as a WR contest for the best WR hit in 2014 is being held. This is how it supposedly works:
1. 51 unique WRs were hit in 2K14. 3 were eliminated off the bat.
2. There were 16 groups of 3 WRs in round 1, of which 1 time per group advanced to round 2.
3. There will be 4 subsequent rounds of 1v1 WR matches, the last to decide a winner and title of WR of the Year 2K14! (We now also sport giant gaps between rounds!)
-ROUGHLY 24-48 hours will be reserved for each match. Results of each round will be posted below, as well as a screenshot of said results so Timur/ALAKTORN/Daan (hopefully) doesn't think it's rigged. (yeah, that ship has pretty much sailed by now...)
-If any two WRs tie, the results of the match will be cancelled and the contending WRs of that group will be scrambled amongst other groups.

This is how it really works: the Dutch Conspiracy and Daan have formed an alliance, and this is all just a part of their plan to acquire the WROY award via Thomas' kidnapped PC WR, and melt it down for its WRanium to use as ammo and armor in the global conquest of the First Dutch Reich.
-----
Quarterfilans, Final Match: Remember this thread? Yeah, the one that died for no reason 2 months ago. (Yeah, I asked the Dutch Conspiracy but they wouldn't tell me anything.) Anyways, we're back to wrap things up; we're only 4 matches away from crowning the WROY2K14! HAIP! Closing out the Elite 8 we have Matty's insane KB2 Flap of 12.992, and David's sexy sub-1 SG time of 59.990! If anyone votes, WHICH ONE WILL WIN???!!!1

This round will be open until whenever the heck I feel like closing this poll, finals are making my schedule all weird and stuff.

Vids: (Now embedded for added convenience!!!)

Contender Information:

There are seven contenders who've attained WRs for this competition: David, Thomas, Ben, Matthew, Abel, Marshall, and Marcus. Below are brief descriptions.

David "Rainbow Rider" Roldan is a mysterious robot hacker TAS'er player who randomly popped out of nowhere in 2008, soon bringing hell to Thomas' untouchable position as King of The Universe MKDS, as he quickly launched deep into WR territory and obliterated any semblance of Thomas' solitude as Diety of MKDS. He's held #1 himself pretty much as long as Thomas has, and has been shown to be able to counter any attack Thomas can throw at him, using even his feet and sexy voice to keep the coveted crown.

Thomas "Jap Wannabe" Bolton is more skilled than 99.999999999999999% of the people who play Mario Kart, more intelligent than Fenner, older than time, able to leap over gaps in a single bound, and yet still somehow manage to horribly suck at Rainbow Road. (Seriously, this guy is hardcore no-homo.) He's been around crushing dreams since the beginning of MKDS, and he'll probably still be here after my thumbs have succumbed to arthritis. He's taken Fried, Stelzig, Abel, Sascha, and can hold his own (well, sorta) against David. He's one-of-a-kind; he can adapt any strat he pleases, and when he gets bored, out pop new WRs, from pretty much nowhere.

Ben "Ben" Stoneman (yea, couldn't think anything up there) really lives up to his name. The only person as persistent as myself, the Man of Stone has conjured up WR after WR after WR in a never-ending onslaught on Thomas and David, who're always somehow one AF-step ahead of him. His ridiculous MMF skill always leave others gawking, wishing they understood the course. And of course, he will always be fighting for his favorite tracks, WP, PG, and DKP. Will he ever sit upon the MKDS throne???

Matthew "Matty, Destroyer of Worlds" Ord, Admiral of the 4th Scottish Paper Plane Brigade, whilst not busy plotting to overthrow the Dutch Conspiracy with his paper planes or seducing people with his lovely Scottish voice, plays MKDS. Recently stealing the UK crown from Abel (or, who he calls 'The Poor Man's Matthew'), he's always scoffing in the face of what we mortal players call "MTs"; he doesn't approve of such mindless drivel. So instead, the man goes and invents a superior race of MTs: Wiggle MTs. He proves they work, too: They let him do impossible things like reach impossible times on BP and F8C, and sub 13" on KB2, which is more impossible than even TAS would like to admit. He scoffs in the face of what we call "standards", always hovering one ARR point away from overall god. And the man laughs in the face of what we call competition, effortlessly breaking into the PRB top-10 just because he was bored one day. I wouldn't want to get on his bad side if I were you, unless you want to spend the rest of your life tied up in his basement with whoever else he's felt like arresting over the years.

Abel "doichi is bigger than ant" Marques, the most random person to ever walk this earth, has inadvertently started a cult. It involved two things: beer, and 5 words. Well, I already typed em out, and I'm too lazy to repeat em so look back a bit to see what they are. When he isn't inventing excuses not to sub 46 on YF, he hangs out at his room, trying to flush spiders down sinks, watching anime porn (jealous much, Etch?), playing with his anime figurines, and doing spooky kinesis with his melodic voice. He was world champion for a month in 2010, which Thomas promptly squashed, and he hasn't seen the position since. In fact, thanks to Matthew, he isn't even champion of his own country anymore. On the bright side though, he lost 9 WRs this year, which counts as a new PR by quite a lot.

Marshall "Cheap" LeVett, creator and rekker of CCB, is an odd specimen: he's spent his life focusing on only a few tracks, all of which he has WRs on. Rumor has it he was abducted by the Dutch as a child and injected with a serum that turned him into a Supersaiyan. He uses this power for good, however, as he's defeated the villainous Giulio Centrone in his very lair: G-Danzee Square. This castle of a record was one which even the mighty Thomas, God of All MKDS, had failed to take. No one knows how much lead Marshall's ingested to gain these powers, but one thing is clear: no one knows exactly how much potential he has. He works out. He loves Michele (prob because Michele is a girl name and he still hasn't figured it out yet [poor guy...]). He's the Captian 'Murica of MKDS!

Marcus "Doichi" Frenje, the wateer-drinking, LC1-obsessing, SNORSK-speaking wunderkid of MKDS, is unique. No one has ever been observed to obsess so much over a single course. Thomas and David allowed him the LC1 WRs just so they could take them from him right in front of his face, and have been holding these records just above his level, much like big kids holding a toy out of reach of a littler kid, ever since. Funny how LC1 was the most played track of 2014, yet the 3lap goal of sub-1.10 was never met...

Okayy everyone, we have a problem: the round durations are tied, so I'll leave the poll up a bit longer until someone else casts a vote. Furthermore, with no further objections, I have removed the 3 listed WRs from the initial round. I'll check back in a bit!

Edit: conflict resolved, the attributes are as follows:

24-hour group and 1v1 matches, all in this one topic. First group will be up shortly!

Edit 2: Round 1 up!

Going WR flap pace you wont run into any except a car in the beginning (it's in the same area as the yellow car in the first lap, so it's easy to get by lol)

Pass CCB at 57'x to do my strat I think

Just wanted to mention that I brought back a strat I had figured out back in 2008 for the SR flap. It was a little ahead of its time back then.

Between 24-hour matches, 48-hour matches, and "different duration-- please specify" matches, 24-hour matches won that poll out by a decent margin, regarding both 1v1 matches and group matches.
