POY 2014
01/02/15 at 11:54:01

It's that time again - who do you think best exemplified what it means to be a competitive MKSC karter in 2014? Here are the candidates, in alphabetical order:

Stefan Glosby - He exemplified consistency like none other this year. I pretty much knew there would be a new post in MKSC each morning, with only a few exceptions, because he would update us at 4 AM - 5 AM EST daily in the PRs thread.

Andy Lundeen - Bottom of the barrel in terms of number of news updates written in 2014, very erratic times updater, hoarder, dream-crusher, erratic video poster, and part crocodile, Andy was a KC co-host, is site co-admin and site champion. The number of WRs he scored this year would be countless, if it weren't for the mkwrs site dutifully keeping track of them all.

Robert Szabo - The man with a legendary bathtub: no one knows how many SC PRs and WRs he set in that thing this year. Right now he is #1 in the SC category, moving up from at least #3 at the beginning of the year. He's also contributed to the site, notably offering to catch us all up on the awards page, for instance. He's also dumped tons of vids throughout the year and explored interesting categories, like GP coin collection.

Jonathan Toole-Charignon - Champion of news updates, primary mkwrs updater, KC co-host and site co-admin, Lafungo was a consistent karter all year round. He moved into the top 10 and is gaining some good experience with ZZMT. He also plays on emulator and broadcasts GP speedruns, spreading the good word to his audiences. He also doesn't know how to not-use the media tag on the forum.

Christian Wild - News updater and times updater, Chris basically just has to breathe on his GBA to get PRs/WRs. Chris has scored some of the strongest WRs in the game, and when he sits down with the game and plays, he cuts AF in an overpowered fashion, like a sword slicing through cheese. (Don't ask me why I thought of it like that. I guess I just like cheese and am hungry as I type this?) Chris passed Seb this year for the German champion title and has accumulated some 70 God standards to his profile.

There you have 'em - the poll will stay open until January 18th! All you have to be is a member of the forum to be qualified to vote.

Andy for sure. After all the WRs you made, it wouldn't make sense if you don't gain it  Smiley. Even if Stefan Glosby deserves also an award for his consistency during all the year.  Smiley

My vote goes to Andy. I wouldn't know what else I could say that the numbers next to his name already say. Under 1.2 AF and the most succesful year in terms of WR acitivty of all players across any of the MK games that weren't released this year. Hats off to that.

Hats off to Chris, Etch, Jon, Daniel, Mike, and Stefan for their achievements this year.

However, Andy made a grand total of 179 WR improvements this year (according to his measurements, anyway, and keep in mind, he is president of Chester University). Sorry, but that eclipses everything else.  Smiley

go for 365 in 2015!!!  Smiley

Chris passed Seb this year for the German champion title

As I don't really follow the MKSC activity as I should do, I wasn't aware of this.

I think this performance deserves a POY more than Andy who has enough now, even if he's actually the POG (Player of the Game). Grin

^Untl I actually play those remaining tracks at least, which may be until the end of time lmao.

I've decided not to vote on this one. I'm torn between Andy and Chris. Andy set a record number of WR's across all MK's, got well below 1.2 AF, etc. Chris however, passed Seb which is definitely no small feat. However I'm probably biased here because I'm convinced I could do it as well if I gave a shit.
