I only have one official GCN controller that works well currently (all the other are more or less in a broken state), and I want to get more in the near future. To play Smash 4 multiplayer (no Wii U Pro Controller, and Wiimotes are far from ideal for that game), but also as a back-up  to play Gamecube games like MKDD, KAR and others, when my brothers are playing Smash or if our sole current controller breaks.

I'm interested in the new black Smash controller Nintendo has recently manufactured and released, but I want impressions first. For those who already got it, how does it feel compared to the official controller of the old days, and does it works great for MKDD?

I'm sure it would be great for DD.  However, expect your thumb to get a blister from the fresh rubber grip, don't underestimate the power of that stuff.
