New Site for Rankings

Long time no see.

Haven't played this game properly since June, and I wanted to make a return this december. (No chance of playing until then) So I decided that meanwhile, when I had time, I could work on a new site. A new site that has data on WW tops, american tops, EU tops, japanese tops, and AUS tops. Including flap and BKS'.
The reason for making this site is actually that mkwiiu.com is down a bit too often (don't take this wrong Zak/Aruba - your site is great). It's also because it's easier to have all rankings in one site, than what it has been lately. (Zak/Aruba's site & Fra's site)

The site is still to be updated, missing data on ~~American tops~~ and BKS' as mkwiiu.com is down. Anyways, the link - http://mkwtops.weebly.com/

Like I said before, I'd be willing to help out with the updates and whatnot as well. Good luck

(By the way, are you going to change the layout of the site? It looks a little blocky and there's a bit of a problem with scrolling all the way down on my computer.)

As for the suspicious players, I think it's worth noting that Ian, Glaceon, and Harry literally came out of nowhere and don't have any other WW or regional tops or much, if any, contact with the MKW community (though Harry did have MH track history). Everyone else, minus maybe a few Japanese players (can't really make a call there) has had either more history or more contact with the community.

You also might want to add Logan (American CM glitch guy) to the list. He allegedly has AR, and it was counted on Zak's site but not the Japanese one.

Regarding Glaceon:

I'm pretty sure he is legit. His history is hard to piece together because he used different licenses and some of his ghost dates were bugged. When you do piece it together you can see he had about 2 years of LC history from 1:09.7xx to his current PR of 1:09.157.

But yes, the strange thing is that no one in the Japanese community knew who he was, and that was the main reason why he wasn't added to the WR site (and was requested to stream).

In MK8 he was 2nd WW on rMC for a while (now 3rd WW). He pretty much only plays rMC, and has no other Miiverse posts. Again, he's not known in the community at all. It is so similar to what he did in MKWii, but since it's MK8 we know for sure that his times are legit. That's one of the reasons that I'm starting to think that his MKWii times should count. I know that being legit in MK8 doesn't mean you're legit in MKWii, but to me it shows that he a) is not just some random hacker, b) is a course specialist just like in MKWii, and c) is capable of competing in MK at a high level without cheating.

Back when he got the LC WR, I also thought that he was likely legit as I couldn't find anything wrong with his inputs or his progress. But now I'm more convinced after realizing how much the bounce SC saves as well as seeing him compete in MK8. I don't think that we made the wrong decision to not originally count his times, as the best scenario would have been for him to come forward and prove himself...

I've been planning on adding him to WR site (he would have 2 WRs back when he introduced the spindrift strat and got 1:09.2xx). So if the community decides to add him back to the top 10's then I'll also add him to WR site.

At the same time he changed the SC strategy, nobody realised just how much time the bounce saved. It saves a lot, and there is no reason why the WW top 10 shouldn't all be under at least 1:09.2, even now.

Bomu - He owns a cavetube and may stream in the future, I don't know very much about him, though this is what I do know:
1. He's had a lot of times on courses beforehand that were WWtop10 or very close to being so, he had 1:50.4 on TF for a while, if I recall, 2:10.9/2:10.8 on BC glitch that was around for a few months, then improved.

ian - Glitch times shouldn't be doubted due to large improvements, pulling off 2/3 can be considered incredibly lucky and doesn't require good driving to achieve at all.

Fra - Has incredibly fast improvements, and acts like a cheater. Claims many laps that are seemingly incredibly difficult, I don't trust him.

Glaceon - See Cole's post.

Madeno - I don't remember seeing any Japanese accuse him, I trust him.

Shawn - Don't know much about him as a player, he does seem to have come out of nowhere, but it's been shown that some players are simply more talented than others, has no serious claims, slow improvements on a lot of courses as well, I trust him.

Fra has claimed feats such as being able to improve European standard times in less than an hour. From last year, I recall Fra claiming to have devised a strategy for hitting a "super low trick" on Toad's Factory consistently, claiming to be able to hit it 80% of the time or so. He also claimed a 35.80x lap 1 with 3-0-0, which took several hundredths from the best known split at the time. Fra never showed an interest in taking the world record despite this, and did not provide any recorded evidence to back up any of these claims either.

Another thing that I notice is that Fra hasn't claimed a single personal record since he left the Players' Page Skype chat, after an argument with another member.

Because I have every right to do so, no matter what. It could sound wrong, but atleast I've proven myself the most in this community by far. Anyway, why does it have to be negative? I know how fast improvement work, they don't help much if you don't prove it some way other people can see it. Done legit, ofc. If you also read my post, you should've seen that I wrote all of my choices aren't fully made my me. I've discussed with other players. Don't you try start something.

Thanks a lot guys, help is very appreciated. We'll take it in near future. Also nice to see posts about these people, would like to hear more opinions and other stuff if you have some information that's not already posted about some of the players.

Nice thread, nice site.
Would suggest reformatting website to try have a whole cup fit across the screen, text is far too fat at the moment.
Impressed with your reasonable and calm approach to raising doubt about certain players. Personally I'm not involved and up to date enough with the community to contribute any noteworthy opinion nowadays, but with a game as messed up as this, the illegitimacy discussion inevitably needs to come up now and again, so keep plodding on, and good luck with the site!
