It's not that bad to have 5000+ though, unless it's done within 2 or 3 years since joining (I'm up for nearly 3 years now)
Not really meaningless though, we got ranks for that. I guess 20,000th post is the final rank promotion? (assuming the blue bar is the progression to it at the members list)
Of course it takes years to even get Myth status, if you keep posting of course. Just try to keep it reasonable.

Do you think we should just get rid of the rank system altogether and only have the mods/admins identified on their posts, rather than everyone being Legend, Titan, whatever? I've realized that these ranks say nothing about a poster's overall usefulness on this forum, and only really seem to serve to encourage making useless posts just so that one will get a higher meaningless status.

I'm still not sure about all of this, it's nice having a fresh start here but at the same time I kind of have this weird nostalgia for my last account.  I also liked reading through my old posts and pms and other things like that.  I actually never cared that much about the post count,  I just liked posting in general.

Why do I do it?  Why do you have to put the board in fucking shambles and fill it with nonsense, and even extend your inconveniences by spontaneously deleting your account not thinking of the consequences it has, or the procedure in which shadow generously had to go through to restore the accounts?  You make it seem like I'm an asshole but you're the ones disrupting the harmony of the site, annoying large amounts of people with nonsense (at least what I say makes some sense  ), and even putting unnecessary bullshit tasks on the admins' plates.

Not to mention all the times he's brought the database back up! When the database goes down, nobody's times can be seen (for any game other than MK64) and very often it's Shadow who fixes this. And for those who only play MK64, I'm sure Shadow has at least updated your times before?

Being an admin is never easy. I know, I've been one on N64HS before. Lots of daily maintenance and when something breaks, normally only you or a partner can fix it. And you don't get paid a penny for the job, as Jonesy pointed out earlier. All that work ultimately led me to quit N64HS. You really have to enjoy what you're doing or you will not last very long. Remember this before you ask to be one of our admins  

We should all try to appreciate everything the admins of the forum and players' pages do for us, even something as simple as updating our times. That's why I thank Sami Çetin every time I send him a new SMK PR. He only has to work on that site once a week, but it eats up at least a couple of hours of all his weekends. I bet nobody is paying him to update, and he does it because he really likes doing it and/or nobody else is willing to put in the work to keep all of our SMK times profiles up to date. And I imagine he's going to be particularly busy a couple of weeks from now after the upcoming CDM because that is the busiest time of the year for SMK.
