And when I want to click on one to see the history, it brings me to the mk8dx 150cc chart of that track. That's confusing imo.

Whether I'm imagining wading through frosting in Sweet Sweet Canyon to take a bite of that giant donut, or picturing myself, shrunken down, making my way through Waluigi's pinball machine, there's something rejuvenating about the game that provides a nice reminiscence of the halcyon days gone by.

Before we had 1'29 and 1'31 on the list, they both got removed, later 1'31 was back in the list, now 1'31 is removed and we have 1'21 on the list.

There's actually around 10 updaters, still very hard to keep up with WR improvements that happen every 5 minutes. Mistakes and bugs are bound to happen with so activity.

So is it a mistake that there are a lot of wrs with negative durations?

The "MK8" list on https://mkwrs.com/about.php only applies to Mario Kart 8 WR history, not Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
