May we consider not counting those WRs without available ghosts to prevent such bullshit? It has already happened too many times.

imo there's a problem with everyone who did it (I have nothing against Thurmos specifically), including NOBUO/Blake/Thurmos, it's just that we're now seeing a hoarding trend that might become more and more used and that kills the point of competition when all other people use the built-in leaderboard system to make available their strategies to everybody. Competition is not about getting WRs with any means, fair or unfair towards other players. It's about trying to push our limits, and it doesn't automatically imply harming others in the process. If you want to do that and you see nothing wrong with it, fine, but be aware you will be disliked by a lot of people just because you unfairly tried to be the best at a videogame.

I don't agree with the "find strats on your own" mindset. We are a community. It's up to you to decide to be selfish just to gain some Internet success, but this kind of behaviour is not what I consider to be acceptable in a community. Whether it's Thurmos, Blake, NOBUO or anybody else.

Anyway, I would support not counting WRs if people deliberately hoard for such reasons, even if they wouldn't care.

in all seriousness, let's be strict about hoarding runs. runs will not be counted unless uploaded / video evidence of time. no more wata-S type bullshit thanks

My pre-release end of 2014 prediction was 1:38:998, can't believe it's going to get beaten so soon!  

It is annoying when you find a new glitch/strat just to have it immediately copied and your record lost, along with all/most recognition for finding the new method.

But hoarding is mean, regardless of your reason. Such times should not be counted.

It's a balance between "having the fairest competition possible" and "having the most accurate set of WRs possible".

I don't want 1:48.0xx on MC to be shown as WR on the site. It's just not the true WR. If I played MC today and got 1:47.9xx I wouldn't feel as if I got the WR.
But I also see why people want fair competition and don't want to tolerate these hoarded times.

At the moment I don't feel like hoarding is a big enough problem to start deleting WRs. But if it continues to be a problem then I will definitely consider deleting times / putting a strict policy in place.

I think Blake and Thurmos will upload their times soon. They are probably just waiting until they get better runs.

Maybe players who don't hoard should start targeting these hoarded WRs

No, you need two at the start to bypass the piranha, I'm fairly certain it's a double hop before the second bridge, it saves quite a bit after having tested it.
