Just because Diogo used custom music doesn't mean his wr shouldn't be counted. To say it shouldn't be is silly, as its basically the same as turning in game volume off and plugging in earbuds to listen to something else, which is perfectly fine. Custom music in this game doesn't provide any additional "advantages"

edit: Yes I know his wr is being counted, just felt I should put this out there

The problem is that hacking of any kind is not allowed. Anyway, if you're going to count it, then the rule is pointless and anyone is free to use customs from this point forward.

It sucks but it's only fair. Otherwise players in MKW might be playing with fucking metronomes as BGM to time wheelies or some bullshit. Roll Eyes

If custom music were allowed I'd probably TT more tbh, just cause I love music. It's really just safe to stay we should stick with what the vanilla game experience is like so all players are at equal ground/starting points.

Diogo just set the precedent to not allow custom music. He got a WR with custom music, found out it was banned, and conveniently set another one without, and promised to not use custom music anymore. We're actually lucky such a skilled player set the precedent 'cause he can beat his previous WR somewhat easily. If a one shot wonder got his first and only debut WR with an insanely lucky once in a lifetime run, and was told his run was banned for custom music, he'd be more mad than Diogo. So let's be thankful this happened to Diogo and wasn't a big deal to him. Since we got so lucky with the precedent setting, (which btw was actually set in MKW (or before) but w/e), and since that WR was so insanely temporary, I think both of Diogo's improvements should be added to the WR database.

I agree that custom music shouldn't be allowed (from hence forth, at least). Sure, a lot of the time we won't catch it, but we can if they're streaming or something. Nevertheless, this is the safe choice. Allowing certain hacks but not others is a risky route. It's safer and smarter to not allow any hacks; doing otherwise will just encourage more people to hack their game, and if a bunch of people hack the game we're bound to have a cheater or few in the bunch. I personally don't care if Diogo's first record is removed or not. I'd be fine either way. What I do care about is that we don't allow this to happen again.

After a week of TTing, MadSun reclaims rPPS AND rWS with times of 1:56.456 & 1:47.282!
Bone-Dry Dunes gets pushed down to .4xx by Danny

Flarena gets the _proper sub on rCL with 1:42.849!
Darren is back at DS. The WR now is .368!
And SuperFX is STILL improving dEA: now he has 1:35.740. Just when I thought MK8 Records had caught up.....

I think it's because of dpad. I'm not sure they're faster with gamepad/stick runs.

It's also possible that heavies are just a lot harder. It's not uncommon for the technical best strategy to not be the practical best.
