I just heard that the UK are going to host Eurovision on behalf on Ukraine.

Unfortunately, the parents of Archie Battersbee, who is on life support, have lost an appeal to continue treatment, which means he is left to die.

Learned a few things on the news yesterday, which makes me confident that this will be nowhere the pandemic that COVID-19 was.

As pointed out, the current death toll is shockingly low, although that's not what's preventing it from reaching pandemic status.

The real news is that, according to current knowledge, transmission is 95 % via sexual contact. So, that's not the situation where you get it simply by going in a restaurant where an infected coughed.

While a serious epidemic on the horizon, if it indeed is 20 times less contagious via casual contact, the social distancing measures will be much lesser, more akin to the previous societal epidemies we lived through.

While I can agree with the notion of ''Play stupid games, win stupid prize'', the idea that a 12-YEAR OLD deserves to die from stupidity is horribly callous and cold. Considering your stance on Life Begins At Conception And Is Sacred, that's even more puzzling.

Now, the notion of quality of life and whether or not life support is right or wrong, that's very tricky. The fact that you know your own will and communicate it beforehand is very healthy, but that does not invalidate the parent's position either.

In other news, the world of pro wrestling was flipped upside down this week, as Vincent K. McMahon announced his immediate retirement from being CEO of WWE. This comes up as he is in the middle of an intimate relations NDA investigation, where the details are blurry, but ranges from potentially unethical to potentially illegal.

In short, this puts an end to an era of close to 40 years where he rose as the single biggest worldwide name in the industry for most of it. What will happen to the empire in the coming years ?

London is unlikely as a host city. Its hosted 4 of the 8 that the UK have had to date.

A Northern venue will be prefered by a lot of people on the bid committee. But the smart money is on Liverpool

The people trying to create a scandal out of charity and maybe some ceremonial ego-stroking are being trashy on this one.
