^ Now you've mentioned blueless races, I had online races without that bitchy shell. Of course not logical when it comes to MKW logic (if it had logic, lol)

Don't forget that for every Blue Shell we get, that there's always a way to do a BSD (if MK8 allows it )


Just a crazy thought... the sentence in MK8 section on the main page still says "Popular with fans of DKR", but since we now know it isn't DKR, we'll need a fitting sentence for it.

Now suddenly I got a newsletter from Nintendo about MK8, nice trailers. But I lost hope already after seeing coins being yet again part of the game... I prefer no coins damnit! Except for GP, because it makes feel you rich

I wonder if they add Missions like they did in MKDS, but also VS race since that mode wasn't for MK7... anyone wants to have these 2 modes too?

The blue shell, as much as people don't want to admit it, is more often than not pretty justified. At the start of a race, one player breaks through without getting hit in the initial chaos, they collect 10 coins and get a lead, ofcourse long before then they have defence and an item in reserve. They can also happily collect every coin on the direct path to punish players who are behind even further and force them to go wide. Yet this occurs pretty much every race whether the player that doesn't get hit is a good player or not. No matter how good a player you are, catching up to someone with 10 coins while not being able to collect any is a tall if not impossible feat, their lead will only increase so long as they're playing normally. People using a balanced combo vs people using a speed combo only compounds the problem. The game would make if anything even less sense without the blue. They've tried to change it but still seem to be experimenting, my bet is they haven't shown it yet because they changed it and want to keep the change a secret.

But you get no Blue Shell races, it's just a matter of getting dozens of them first

In MKWii, the blue shell was fine for me, but in MK7 it was atrocious

Indeed, both the blue shell and the bomb don't send you in the air anymore. However the star and the bullet bill still do, but not as high as before.

Actually the hitstun for all items seems to have been slightly reduced. My guess is it is to prevent players to abuse Lakitu warping which would more often be faster than taking a hit had they kept the MK7 properties of the item. Someone should try to make a video highlighting the changes.
