Hi everyone. Most of you guys should recognize me, so I'll skip the intro.. anyways, I haven't played this game but very very little in the last few years, and I recently started staying at a buddy's house who has double dash and I've been casually getting more and more into playing it again.
I know this seems a bit pointless to mention, as I'm aware that there's only so much advice that can be given when it comes down to a clear difference in skill.. but when I set my old PRs, I had full use of both hands. Since then, I've had to deal with nerve damage in my left hand which seriously limits the use of my left thumb and also limits my play sessions to less than an hour at a time, making it much harder to play at a competitive level. Despite this, I've been able to adopt a new style of playing which I feel has the potential to rival my former skill, and I've made it a goal to achieve a full set of new PRs.
However, despite regaining much of my skill (so I feel) I feel as if I'm not getting anywhere near the times I should be. My lowest ranked time, which is Yoshi Circuit 3lap, is 1:54.xxx. My best attempt recently on this course has only managed 2:01.xxx. I feel like this gap is much bigger than it should be. The closest I have managed to a PR has been on SL flap at 27.2. I can manage A tech and have been beginning to grasp other advanced techniques which should be far above my level, but even achieving the mediocre advanced rankings that I once managed seem far out of reach, despite my best attempts. If I were to post a video showing my current skill (a one take) would you guys be able to critique my performance? It would be much appreciated, I need to know in which departments I'm lacking and what the most glaring mistakes are that I can improve upon.
Also - I've been playing with my feet lately and I've actually managed to do quite well. It's impossible for me to MT (those shoulder buttons aren't made for toes) but I've been able to beat all the grand prix modes besides star, special, and all cup tour on mirror using my feet. I was wondering if anyone has tried to play this way. If so it would be cool to start a ladder of times driven with the feet. I think it'd be interesting. If anyone volunteers I'll record some videos but I'm a bit doubtful anyone here would be willing to help such a shitty player like myself.

IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE READING ALL THAT (TL;DR)I used to suck but now I hurt my hand and I suck more. I can't even get close to my old PRs ranked between 400-650 AF. Would anyone be willing to critique my play style and give tips? Also, can anyone play proficiently enough with their feet to compete with me on TT using only their feet?
