PAL/NTSC Splits

Hey guys,

I was wondering if maybe there was a list somewhere of typical splits for each course, and I'm not talking about best possible splits, just a typical run of the top players.

So does this exist somewhere?

I don't get it. Could you give an illustrated example based on some track you could give those "typical splits" ?

MKDD is not technical at all

Gaming Guru Extraordinaire (© Sargoth) – SMK '09, '13, '14 POY, former #1 (PAL: August 2013 - May 2017 / NTSC: March '14 - April '17) – 80/80 M+ PRs

The feeling of being a world champion is intoxicating, and I didn't want to ever not be the world champion again. Then I realized it didn't matter that much since I had nothing more to prove and achieved my most important goal(s).

Well, take MC1. What would be considered a great opener, good middle laps, and typical closer?

In PAL I'd say 11"97 - 11"57 - 11"58 - 11"58 - 11"38 (assuming a better final lap would be surrealistic after such a great race). So 58"08.

I mean, that breaks the current WR. What are some pretty usual races (like you consistently open with 12:10 and try to stay around 11:65 or something for all the middle laps. I'm NTSC native and just want to know what I should be aiming for good races on PAL, you know? Sort of take the learning curve away...

He's probably asking for splits you would aim for in 1-try races that you can finish consistently.

An example would be 59"60 (or thereabouts) on MC1.

L1 12"25
L2-L4 11"85
L5 11"80

59"60, that's my pr 1 try my arse you bastards you

For me a good opener is a low 12"2x, good middle laps are mid to low 11"7x and a good last lap would be sub 11"70. Fair enough to say I've never had a race with 5 good laps (I'm very inconsistent). Had plenty with 3 good laps and 2 average/bad laps.

If you can consistently finish below 59"60 in 1-try at MC1 at tournaments, then you're the best in the world in this field. As far as I know the 59"60 mark has only been beaten two or three times in official TT CDM tournaments.  Wink
